the login details. Please fill out all details on the form.

Buying Tests
Marlins English Language Tests are purchased online using a credit or debit card. You will
have immediate access to your tests via an automated system that makes your tests
available as soon as your payment has been processed successfully.
We recognise that security may be a concern in online purchasing. When buying Marlins
tests, your credit card payment details are protected with the highly secure payment
facility, WorldPay which protects you against online fraud. For more information about
WorldPay online security visit the WorldPay website at www.worldpay.com.
3. Enter the number of tests you wish to purchase for your company. Click on
the drop down menu to view the different tests available: be sure to select the
right quantity of tests for cruise ship (ie marine hotel) staff or seafarers (deck and
engine staff). This can be any number of tests: there is no minimum or maximum
order. Then click ‘purchase tests’.
4. You will receive confirmation of the number of tests you wish to buy and the
value of your order. At this stage, you can change the quantity of tests if you
want to.
5. Clicking on ‘purchase tests’ will take you to the WorldPay secure payment site.
6. Enter your card details and click ‘make payment’.
7. You will receive an email from the Marlins website and a separate email from
WorldPay to confirm the number of tests you have purchased. This email is also
your receipt.
Testing a Candidate
In order to test a candidate you must first generate a license code. One license code is
required for each individual test.
2. The screen will confirm the number of tests available. If you were expecting to
test 20 people that week you may wish to generate 20 license codes.
4. The Test Administrator can opt to print out the 20 test codes for easy
reference. She can also email the licence codes to other pcs.
5. You may pre-populate the candidates’ details (name etc) using the
‘allocate/amend’ next to each licence code. This stage is optional.
6. When the first candidates arrive, they should sit at a pc with Marlins Test Site
homepage open.
7. The Test Administrator should check each candidate’s ID then give each person
his or her unique licence code.
8. Candidates do not need to log on, they just click on ‘Taking A Test?’ on the
Marlins Test Site homepage, enter their licence code then click ‘take the test’.
9. If the Test Administrator has not previously entered a candidate’s details, the
candidate will be prompted to enter his / her details before starting the test.
Tests which have been allocated to a candidate but not used can be allocated to a
different person by changing the candidate details. Go to ‘show incomplete tests’ and
click ‘allocate / amend’. Change the candidate details and then click ‘update’.
At any time, the Test Administrator can check how many codes have been generated
and how many have been used by clicking on ‘show incomplete tests’.
When the candidate has finished the test, make sure they have clicked the ‘Finished’
button otherwise the results won’t be recorded. If for some reason they leave the test
without clicking the finish button, or if the internet connection is lost the test can be
resumed from where the candidate was by re-entering the licence code in the ‘Taking a
test?’ box. Please note, if the test is not finished after 36 hours it will expire and
cannot be used.
When the test has been completed you should print out their certificate. To do so go to
do so click on ‘Print certificates’ on the Test Centre admin page. Click the check box on
all certificates you wish to print then click ‘Print certificates’ button.
If you want to print a certificate that has previously been printed click the ‘Show
certificates already printed’ check box.
