1. JOB DETAILS:
Position Title: Manager Engineering Services

2. JOB PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for providing support to SIAL’s Human Resources, including Policy
Development & Implementation, Staff Recruitment & Selection, Personnel Management, Staff
Appraisal, Staff Capacity Building & Development, Coordination of Internal Meetings, Workshops and
Trainings.

3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: KRAs


Description
1. Implement OEM-recommended preventive maintenance plans for Ground
Handling Equipment (GHE), Fire and Rescue (F&R) vehicles, and General
Transport vehicles to ensure optimal operational efficiency.

2. Conduct comprehensive monthly inspections of GHE, F&R, and General

Transport vehicles to proactively identify and rectify potential defects,
adhering to established inspection procedures.

3. Spearhead timely and seamless maintenance activities to minimize


downtime and enhance overall operational continuity.
4. Institute effective maintenance strategies to prevent the recurrence of

faults, contributing to enhanced equipment reliability and longevity.

5. Supervise and optimize work activities to minimize the probability of
failures, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operations.

6. Manage and maintain safety stock levels of running spares, ensuring a


readily available inventory to support ongoing maintenance requirements.
7. Oversee the storage and meticulous record-keeping of all running spares,
facilitating efficient inventory management.
8. Ensure material demands are generated as needed for GHE, F&R vehicles, Inventory and
and General Transport vehicles, ensuring a seamless supply chain for Procurement
maintenance operations.
9. Prioritize and coordinate with the procurement department for routine
and urgent procurements, ensuring timely availability of necessary
resources.
10. Identify and raise training requirements for workshop staff, facilitating Resource
continuous improvement and skill enhancement. management and
11. Coordinate with management and OEMs to organize specific equipment Trainings
training sessions, ensuring staff proficiency with equipment technicalities.
12. Orchestrate training programs aimed at enhancing the soft skills of
workshop personnel, fostering a well-rounded and adaptable team.
13. Generate human resource requests to ensure sufficient manpower for
efficient operations and implement effective change management
strategies.
14. Develop and manage the annual budget for the engineering services
department, ensuring efficient utilization of resources while maintaining
cost-effectiveness.
15. Ensure a systematic approach to sorting, arranging, and disposing of
materials, fostering a clean and efficient work environment.
16. Execute preventive maintenance plans in accordance with OEM
recommendations, meticulously maintaining records to ensure compliance
and accountability.
17. Maintain detailed log books for each departmental section/sub-section,
providing a comprehensive and organized overview of maintenance
activities.
18. Establish and maintain records for all corrective and preventive
maintenance activities performed, enabling effective performance analysis
and future planning. Documentation
19. Promptly report any equipment unserviceability to management,
facilitating swift resolution and minimizing operational disruptions.
20. Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations in all
engineering and maintenance activities, fostering a culture of safety
among the team.
21. Prepare the engineering services department for internal and external
audits, ensuring all records, documentation, and processes comply with
industry standards.
22. Any other task assigned by the management.
