Work Experience

Legal Admin
McDermott Smith Law - Liverpool

I was a key part of the financial mis-selling team providing excellent support to the solicitors by being
the clients first point of contact and dealing with enquiries both through email and over the phone.
• Handled a high volume of client files carefully and consistently and drafted and sent the correct letters
on each file. This required attention to detail and excellent communication details.
• Dealt with incoming correspondence in the firms' inboxes quickly and professionally in order to reach
a monthly target. This required problem-solving skills and independent working initiative.
• Answered incoming calls from clients to deliver updates on their cases and assist with any queries or
concerns. This involved working in a high-pressured environment and excellent verbal communication
skills.
• Responsible for organising all outgoing correspondence for my department so that it was sent out by
the deadline. This required organisation skills and effective time-management.

Legal Intern
Slaughter and May - London
July 2021 to July 2021
I took part in a summer vacation scheme which included group webinars, one-to-one webinars with
associates and trainees, and individual tasks.
• Completed individual tasks such as drafting a power of attorney, researching sales purchase
agreements, and advising on fixed and floating charges. This required written communication skills and
research skills.
• Prepared and presented a group presentation on a recent business transaction. This involved teamwork
and co-operation and public speaking.
• Participated in a commercial awareness workshop which involved analysing and discussing a case
study in small groups and feeding back our thoughts and ideas. I had to use my analytical skills and
commercial awareness.

tasks under pressure and in a professional environment.
• Note-taking in interviews between clients and solicitors. I had to use active listening skills and adapt
to a fast-paced working environment.
• Administrative tasks such as completing and filing application forms. This required attention to detail
and organisation skills.
• Drafting documents such as letters of representation and letters of intent. This required legal
knowledge and a formal and professional style of written communication.
