Statement of Purpose
Indian Institute of Technology,
Bombay
With my keen interest in aerospace, I have always been fascinated
of pursuing a career in aerospace engineering. To pursue this
dream I had taken Physics, Chemistry and Maths after my
10th standard board exams. My goal is to be a successful aerospace
engineer and join the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO).
To become successful in this field, right monitoring and guidance is
required and I am sure that IIT Bombay is the institute which can
not only provide the best education but also the best guidance.
The long list of successful engineers who have graduated from IIT
Bombay and made a mark in their lives is proof to
understand that this is the best institute for me to pursue a degree
in aerospace engineering.
Being very passionate to join the best institute of the country, I had
worked extremely hard to score 98% in the ICSE class ten
examination and had maintained a score of 95% throughout 11th
standard. I am looking forward to score more than 95% in ISC class
twelve examination and also qualify the JEE examination with a
good rank. Apart from excelling in academics, I am also the Vice-
President of the Science Club and have won many Olympiads at
state and national level. I was also a part of my school’s basketball
and cricket team which inhibited in me teamwork skills.
I am confident that I will attain a greater level of excellence in this
institute and work harder to become a successful aerospace
engineer.

BOOK REVIEW
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
I recently read ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher stone’ written by
British author J. K. Rowling. It is the first novel in the Harry Potter
series and Rowling’s debut novel which was published on 26 June
1997.
The genre of the book is 'fantasy-adventure’. It follows Harry Potter,
a young wizard who discovers his magical heritage on his eleventh
birthday, when he receives a letter of acceptance to Hogwarts School
of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry makes close friends and a few
enemies during his first year at the school and with the help of his
friends, he faces an attempted comeback by the dark wizard Lord
Voldemort, who killed Harry’s parents, but failed to kill Harry when
he was just 15 months old.
The storyline is very creative and suspenseful with interesting side
characters like Hermione Granger, a wise and courageous girl, and
Ron Weasley, a bit lazy but funny and loyal guy. It takes us on a
magical journey you can’t help falling in love with.
I recommend this book to people who like fantasy and adventure
genre and I personally rate it a 9/10. It’s written for teenagers but
anyone can read it.
