ARMY CONSTRUCTION AND PAINTING

2.1Army Construction
For this event, you will need an 800 point Good or Evil army adhering to the Matched Play rules
found on pages 128 – 137 of the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game Rules Manual. For this
event there is no limit on the number of warbands your army can include, nor is there a limit
on the number of army lists your force can be drawn from, as long as your army is composed
entirely of Good or Evil models.

2.2 Army Rosters

Once you are happy with your army, you must record it on an army roster. A ll text must be
clearly readable for us and your opponent to check. You will need to hand one copy of your army
roster in at registration, and have at least one other copy to give to your opponent before each
game. You must use the same army roster for each game, and all choices available to you must be
noted down on your army roster. Remember that your roster must include things like the army
list each warband is chosen from, wargear, break point, and note who the leader of your army is.

2.3 Modelling and Painting

A ll conversions should bear a recognizable resemblance to the original model and should be of
comparable dimensions to the latest GW model. A ll wargear should be modelled on your miniatures.
Proxies should be submitted for acceptance to scouring2021@gmail.com prior to the event.

Each model must accurately represent its entry on your Army Roster. Many players “scratch
build” or heavily convert elements of their model collection. For the sake of fairness, as stated
above, any conversion should be comparable in size to the most current version of the model they
represent.
You may not gain a benefit from converted models, but may incur penalties.
For any converted or scratch built models, you must seek permission from the organiser including
photos of the models in question where possible, at least two weeks before the event. If you do not
obtain permission for conversions before this date, you run the risk of them being removed from
play, or incurring score penalties.

PAINTING COMPETITION AND SOCIAL

5.1 Painting Competitions

During the event we will hold a painting and best army competition. These competitions is separate
from the Tournament score, so have no bearing on the overall rankings. It is there to celebrate
hobbyists who have gone the extra mile in their modelling and painting to create something truly
remarkable. To enter you must have done the building and painting yourself and the models must
be from the army you are using at the event.

The first competition is the painting competition. It’s an open entry, so each player may enter their
army. This will be judged by everyone else at the event by means of a single vote per attendee.
Any Ties will go to the judges discretion.

The Events Team will decide the Best Army/ Theme competition. This is a prestigious
award for hobbyists who manage to achieve a truly excellent standard of hobby consistently across
their whole force.

Display boards and cool additions to display your armies is highly encouraged, we love a good bit
of hobby here at Top Table Gaming and feel it is at least as important if not more important than
tactical skill on the table.

5.2 Saturday Night entertainment

Once the games have come to an end on Saturday, take some time to relax with a drink in
the Bar, grab some food and re live epic moments from your games with pals and enjoy some
evening entertainment. 7
MISCELLANEOUS
A couple of things that are frequently asked at Scouring of Che-Shire. We have some of the most
immersive film realistic boards at this event, and there are sometimes occasions where a dispute arises
around whether a model can be placed or deploy in certain areas, please use common sense, is it realistic
and can the spot be accessed in a normal turn of movement? Ie Don’t deploy on a ledge where you cant be
accessed in the game as that’s very unfair and not in the spirit of the game.
Anything else you’re not sure of, just ask.
