SCRIPT FOR ADVOCACY IN ORAL COMMUNICATION

NOTE: minimum of 5 minutes video only and this script is all about street
vendors
“Show some of the videos”.

Visto: Street food has a certain charm to it, no matter how old we are, we
always love indulging in it. What’s more is that it is pocket-friendly, so everyone
can afford it.

Kurt: Guys have you tried eating street food like fishball, kikiam, tempura, taho
and also the most favorite of all the Filipino’s, “balot” [excited yung
pagkakasabi](magdadagdag na lang na iba pang street food)

“Videos of people that conviced what Kurt said. Not only filipino people but
also some of the foreign people.’’ [mag-iinterview tayo ng kahit 5-8 na people
na kumakain ng street food basta sasabihin lang nila ay YES or OO/OPO]

Glazel: Did you know that street food in the Philippines is still largely a small,
fast, and cash-based operation for its vendors. Many of these establishments
are family-run, earning just enough to afford a day’s meals for the family,
enough cash profit for the next day’s capital, and a little extra.. (May hawak
ako na street food nyan pero gamay lang)

Jake: Many vendors try to keep the streets clean and safe for their customers
and provide them with friendly personal service. So, how can we support our
street food vendors? It's simple! Visit your local street markets, food festivals,
and food truck gatherings. Share your experiences on social media,
recommend your favorite vendors to friends and family, and most importantly,
treat them with respect and appreciation.

Question for vendors: What is your most popular dish or menu item? Why?

Visto: Street food vendors are skilled culinary artists who bring delicious and
diverse cuisines to the streets. They often specialize in a particular type of
food, such as tacos, kebabs, or dumplings, and their recipes are often passed
down through generations.

Jake: Street food vendors are masters of improvisation and adaptability. They
can set up their food stalls in various locations, from bustling city streets to
local fairs and festivals. Their ability to quickly assemble their cooking
equipment and create mouthwatering dishes on the spot is truly impressive.

Kurt: Street food vendors offer a unique cultural experience. They provide a
taste of local flavors and traditional cooking methods, allowing people to
explore different cuisines without having to sit in a formal restaurant. Many
vendors take pride in using locally sourced ingredients and incorporating
regional spices and herbs into their dishes.

Glazel: Street food vendors often have a loyal following of customers who
appreciate their culinary skills and the convenience of grabbing a quick, tasty
meal on the go. Some vendors have become local legends, attracting both
locals and tourists who seek out their stalls for a memorable dining
experience. Their food not only fills stomachs but also brings people together,
fostering a sense of community and shared enjoyment.

Kurt: "Street food vendors truly bring the flavors of the world to our fingertips.
Their passion for cooking and creativity in crafting delicious dishes make them
an integral part of our culinary experiences."

but they also contribute to the vibrant and diverse food culture of our cities.

adventures. Their ability to turn simple ingredients into culinary delights is a

also fosters a sense of community as we gather around their stalls. Let's savor
the magic they create and remember to support these small businesses that
add so much flavor to our lives."
