Definition of Terms

For a better understanding and a clearer interpretation of the study, some significant terms

used in the study are defined conceptually and operationally hereunder.

College. This refers to the institution that a senior high school student will be enrolling after

finishing his/her high school.

Course. This pertains to the specialization or degree program a student will get in the college.

Peer Influence. In this study, this pertains to the influence of a friend that affect which affecting

its decision making.

Financial Problem. This refers to monetary shortage that limiting a person from getting what its

wants.

Personal Choice. Pertains to what individual wants, and decisions in life.

Social Influence. Refers to social things that affect our decision making e.g., our environment,

people around us, the technology, the standard of society, etc.

Self-Efficacy. This mainly refers to individual’s belief in his or her capacity to execute behaviors

necessary to produce specific performance attainments.


OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

 To determine what are the factors that affecting the decision making of G-12 students in

choosing a course program;

 To identify if there is a significant relationship between the demographic profile of the

respondents to their choice of course; and

 To know if the motivational factors of the g-12 students have a significant impact to their

decision in choosing a college program.
