The pictures demonstrate several renovations which were carried out at West Park Secondary

School from 1950 to 2010.

Overall, it is clear that the school complex has undergone great development with more

amenities. It is just school and playground that remained unchanged.

Looking first at the period between 1950 and 2010, it is true that some changes occurred.

What were originally house buildings were divided into a car park and science block. In

addition, farmland transformed into a sports field, whereas the playground stayed the same.

With regard to the 1980-2010 period, it can be seen that the science block stayed unchanged,

while the sports field was reduced in size to give space for a car park. This change resulted in

the alteration of the playground's size, in particular, being narrowed. Meanwhile, the school

which was considered as the main building of this complex did not show any development

over the whole period.
