Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of a 2 MW Diesel Generator at ERL

We are going to attend the bid by offering DAIHATSU generator. We have to procure the switchgear
associated with the 2MW generator.

1.6 Generator Switchgear:
1-Set of 5.5 kV Generator switchgear panel have to be arranged
for local and remote control. Generator’s 5.5 kV switchgear
shall have to be placed at proposed location or any other
suitable place in ERL existing power house having power
connection to existing 5.5 kV generator bus.
Necessary connection/modification for connecting the
switchgear to ERL’s 5.5 kV bus to be done by the contractor
The switchgear and the associated equipment shall be fully
1.6.1 General metal clad and shall comprise of but limited to the following:
▪ Switchgear bus bar having provision of future extension on
both sides.
▪ Voltage transformers (For Bus & Generator voltage sensing)
▪ Current transformers (For measurement and Protection)
▪ Generator circuit breaker (draw out type VCB)
▪ Generator cable termination facilities
▪ Earthing facilities
▪ Digital Protective Relays: Following protections must be
provided.
i. Earth fault relay
ii. IDMT over-current relay
iii. Percentage differential relay
iv. Reverse power relay
v. Under/Over frequency relay
vi. Under /Over Voltage relay
Earth fault, IDMT over-current, Under/Over frequency and
Under/Over Voltage protection may be ensured by individual
protective relays or all in 1(one) relay. However, Percentage
differential relay and Reverse power relay must be separate
relays. In alarm and tripping system, prior to tripping of circuit
breaker due to over current, earth fault and over/under
voltage, alarm should be provided. All alarms and tripping
indication shall be shown in the multi-windows annunciator &
HMI as well.

1) The switchgear shall consist of rigid welded steel cubicle &
small house circuit breaker, bus bar, current transformers,

joint surfaces shall be silver plated.
3) All bus bar connections shall be of bolted type. Flexible

4) Safety shutters actuated by inserting or withdrawing of the
circuit breaker and voltage transformer shall be provided in the
compartments.
