Residents catch thief red-handed

Residents of Nettoor, who were on a night patrol,

KOCHI, 20th June2020:

{ caught a thief red-handed in the early hours of thursday.

The man, who is in his 30s and appeared to be dumb, was caught near
the Nettoor church. He was handed over to the Panangad police later.
“ We had formed a citizen watch as there was an increase in theft in

{ the area” one of the local told us. According to the police, a squad
{ by residents’ associations spotted him while he was
formed
attempting to break open the donation box.

Though the youth fled the scene on seeing the squad members, he
{ was eventually caught hiding behind a bush. Weapons, including
iron rods, were recovered from him.
