• The World Wide Web, commonly
referred to as WWW, W3, or
simply the Web
• is an interconnected system of
public webpages accessible
through the Internet.

Static Web Pages
• contain content that do not change or not
capable of typing in new data. They may only
change if the actual HTML file is manually
edited.
• An example is a page that contains school or
company information.

Dynamic Web Pages
• Content in dynamic pages is also restricted to
some users and can only be displayed once
identification has been established.
• This is done by asking users to enter their
username and password on the login page.
• A good example of this is often after you log in
to your Yahoo e-mail account to test and to
send e-mails.

Web 1.0 or The Web
• It is the first generation of WWW and
lasted between 1989 and 2005.
• It is a flat or stationary page since it
cannot be manipulated by the user.
• It was coined by Tim Berners-Lee as
“read only” web.
Web 2.0 or The Social Web
• allows users to interact with the page, the
user may be able to comment or create a
user account.
• It is described as the wisdom, people-
centric, participative, and read- write web.
Unlike 1.0 version, Web 2.0 allows more
control to users and provides interaction.
Web 3.0 or Semantic Web.
• The semantic web provides a framework
that allows data to be shared and reuse to
deliver web content specifically targeting
the user.

• As the world of ICT continues to grow,
the industry has focused on several
innovations. These innovations cater to
the needs of the people that benefit
most out of ICT
1. Convergence TRENDS IN ICT

• Technological convergence is the


combination of two or more different
entities of technologies to create a new
single device.
• Example: Using of smartphone to create
word documents that could previously be
created only using desktop computer.
2. Social Media TRENDS IN ICT

It is a website, application, or
online channel that enables web
users to create, co-create,
modify, and exchange user-
generated content.

It’s a sites that allow you to
connect with other people with
same interests or background.

sites that allow users to store and manage
links to various websites and resources, and
to tag. Most of these sites allow you to create
a tag that allows you and others to easily

• sites that allow users to post their own
news items or links to other news sources.
• The users can also comment on the post
and comments may also be ranked. They
are also capable of voting on these news
articles of the website.

• sites that allow you to upload and
share media content like images,
music, and video.
• Most of these sites have additional
social features like liking,
commenting, and having user
profiles.

• sites that focus on short updates
from the user. Those who have
subscribed will receive updates.
