CHAPTER 5SUMMARY, FINDINGS, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter summarizes the findings of the project, concludes the problems related to the developed
system, and provides recommendations for its proper implementation in the payroll management
system of PC Perez Aqua Farm.

Summary

This study aimed to design and develop a payroll management system for PC Perez Aqua Farm. It sought
to answer the following questions:

1. What is the current process of reporting, timekeeping, and payroll for the employees?

2. What are the difficulties encountered in the existing system and process at PC Perez Aqua Farm?

3. What features will be integrated into the proposed system?

4. What is the acceptance level of the proposed system in terms of functionality, reliability, usability,
efficiency, maintainability, and portability?

This project study utilized the C# language to implement the different features of the developed system.
The Agile model was employed, consisting of the following phases:

a) Functionality

b) Reliability

c) Usability

d) Efficiency

e) Maintainability

f) Portability

Findings

The summary and findings are as follows:

1. The current payroll management procedure at PC Perez Aqua Farm involves assigning staff to collect
employees' DTRs. The HR clerk then manually inputs the DTRs using Microsoft Excel. Similarly, for new
employees, DTRs and personal information are manually entered into Excel.

2. The proposed system includes features that allow the admin/HR clerk to view, add, modify, and delete
employee records. The admin can also input loan details, which will be reflected in the system upon
acceptance. The system automates salary and wage computation, including overtime pay, deductions,
government benefits, bonuses, and holidays. It also generates reports accessible only to administrators.

3. Survey results indicate a weighted mean of 3.82 for functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency,
maintainability, and portability, placing the system in the "very good" category.

Conclusions

Based on the findings, the following conclusions were drawn:

1. PC Perez Aqua Farm needs assistance in entering employee data due to the use of conventional payroll
forms, which is time-consuming. The developed system helps alleviate the difficulties of the existing
process and consolidates the payroll process at the main site instead of having a separate process at the
Sual branch.

2. HR at PC Perez Aqua Farm faces challenges in maintaining report history due to manual filling and lack
of manageability. The developed system addresses this issue through the use of archiving.

3. The system provides administrators and HR with access to payroll administration, automates salary
and wage computation, and includes management features for reports, loans, and cash advances.

4. The produced system shows increased functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and
portability, with an overall weighted mean of 3.82, indicating a "very good" rating.

Recommendations

Based on the conclusions, the following recommendations are made:

1. Future researchers should conduct interviews to understand the current payroll system process.

2. Future researchers should conduct interviews, analyze root causes, and determine user requirements
to address challenges faced by end users.

3. As the system is further developed, researchers should include automated features to enhance
procedures and address user issues.

4. Future researchers should assess the acceptability of the system using a five-scale rating system.

5. Future researchers can enhance the system's functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency,
maintainability, and portability by improving the user interface and adding features.
