the atmosphere protects us from harmful sun rays
and meteors and controls the climate on earth. It’s
made up of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, water
vapours, etc. the troposphere is the closest to the earth
while the exosphere is the farthest. The Stratosphere
the hole in the ozone layer, shown in purple,
is the layer in which the ozone layer can be thankfully recovering

found. the ozone layer stops ultraviolet rays from

reaching the earth and, harming us. however the
ozone layer was damaged when in the 1920s
Chlorofluorocarbons were invented and put to use, the
CFCs entered the atmosphere and created holes in
the ozone layer.

&
gasses
There are some gases in the atmosphere such as carbon dioxide, water vapour and methane that
trap most of the sun’s rays increasing the temperature of the Earth. These gases are called
greenhouse gasses and the phenomenon that they cause is called the greenhouse effect. They are
named “greenhouse” gasses and effect because they create conditions similar to a greenhouse, a
building made of glass where plants are grown, the glass lets sun rays
enter the greenhouse and then traps the rays inside it, making the building warmer.
Greenhouse effect contributes to global warming and is a result of pollution. The rise in
temperature caused by it would make glaciers melt,
Taking away the natural habitat of
many animals, leading them to
extinction. the melting of glaciers would
also an increase in the sea levels, which
wold in turn sink small islands.
