Learning Outcomes:
By completing this assignment, students should be able to design the Sustainable Energy
Management for selected facilities to emphasize on design of complex engineering solutions.
(CO2, PO3)

CO2: Determine Sustainable Energy Management control structure into process and building
management system. (C4)

PO3: Ability to design solutions for complex electrical engineering problems with appropriate
consideration for public health and safety, culture, society, and environment.

Knowledge Profile: Complex Engineering Problems Attributes

WK5: Engineering Design WP1: Depth of knowledge - In-depth

engineering knowledge at the level of one or
more of WK3, WK4, WK5, WK6, or WK8 which
allows a fundamental based, first principles
analytical approach.

WP3: Depth of Analysis - No obvious solution

and require abstract thinking, originality in
analysis to formulate suitable models

WP5: Extend of Applicable Codes – Outside

problems encompassed by standards and
codes of practice for professional engineering.

MINI PROJECT MAIN QUESTION

Proposal to implement SEMS in any facility chosen by group members.

Your team is a facility management contractor/energy management committee at an installation.

The company/organization is obliged to develop a Sustainable Energy Management System
SEMS for the installation. The system will adopt the ASEAN SEM certification initiative named
Energy Management Gold Standard (EMGS), with commitment from all levels to achieve a 3-Star
rated within reasonable timeline of its implementation. Prepare an implementation report to
fulfill the obligation to be submitted to the company/organization for approval.

Delivery
