My name is Krystal Angel and I have known Sindy Penaloza for about 1 year. She is a student of mine at
El Capitan High School, where I am a Mathematics teacher. This is a position, in which I have held for
over 10 years, and two years elsewhere.

I am writing to recommend that you consider Sindy Penaloza for any or all schools she applies for or
scholarships in which she meets requirements. In my few years of experience, some individuals stand
out for their great qualities and Sindy is one of those people. She is well known for her reasonable,
responsible and fast thinking personality. She is well respected throughout the classroom as a student
who is on time, helps out, and is always working harder to better herself. She always makes it a point
to communicate any problems and always asks for assistance if she is faced with difficulty.

Sindy Penaloza has short term goals to get a bachelor's degree in criminology with a longer term goal of
turning it into a master’s degree. She wants to become a FBI special agent.

Sindy will be the first in her family to attend college. She loves to read murder mysteries and learn
about the characteristics behind the minds of serial killers( gaining knowledge in her future career).

Sindy has a 2.04 GPA and has been involved in clubs such as: Chess club, yearbook, theater and choir
during her time here at ECHS. She also volunteers as a Merced County gift wrapper and spends time
visiting and giving company to elderly at the senior center. She has worked as a babysitter and Janitor
at the cheesecake factory.

In summation, due to her great attitude, dedication, and excellent potential, I would heartily
recommend that you accept Sindy Penaloza for any and all colleges or scholarships so that she can
further her education and reach her goals. I am sure that she will not let you down.
