General Information

Job title Network Design Engineer

The Network Design Engineer works within an agile team that is

responsible for design, test and deploy network system change within the
Network delivery ecosystem. The agile teams are aligned by technology
domain (e.g. FTTx) and follow scaled agile practises for delivery.
Job Summary
The primary purpose of this role is to design and configure complex
network change based on the provided solution architecture and ensure
that the delivered network change complies with the requirements
specification and all associated quality standards.
The ideal candidate for this role is an individual who has a strong network
design and testing background in network delivery in a large Telco with
domain knowledge in the relevant network technology field.
• Detailed knowledge in FTTx telecommunication network domains.
• Experience in FTTP, FTTN and FTTC systems and protocols.
Roles &
• Experience in solution development lifecycle in Telco environments
Responsibility:
• Experience in Security policy, process and architectures as applied to
Fixed Line networks.
• Design and implementation of network solutions to satisfy stakeholder
requirements.
• Liaison with Vendors to select appropriate network components and
technologies for inclusion in solutions.
• Experience in high-level & low-level Design of new telecommunication
network capabilities
• Involvement in the design, testing and optimization of FTTx system
based on GPON technologies.
• GPON troubleshooting & QoS testing using Spirent.
• Strong technical knowledge & hands on experience across FTTX EMS
(AMS, AAV, ACS, NA-C) and RHEL, along with Scripting Skills (e.g.
Python, Perl, shell scripting).
• Containerised applications deployment and troubleshooting
• Hands on experience in implementing EMS system design and testing
of solutions on BareMetal, VMWare, Docker, OpenShift or Kubernetes
and Ansible.
• Assist in providing solutions and proposing ideas for new projects.
• Writing technical product documentation
• Experience with agile or scaled agile practises is also desirable.

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and telecommunications

Qualification • Have hands on experience working in different telecom industry
