This document provides details about a MakerFest event where participants will be selected to build smartwatches. The selection process involves 3 stages - answering learning questions, PCB design tasks, and hardware assembly tests. Shortlisted individuals will then form groups to complete their watches by March 2024. Organizers will provide all necessary materials and no experience is required to participate in the learning experience. The goal is for participants to gain skills in areas like PCB design and hardware assembly to fully construct their own smartwatches.

1. Can you guys elaborate a little more on the event?
Ans: So this is an event in which we are going to
handpick people to give them the actual experience of making a smartwatch with the features they want.
So in order to do this hand picking process, we have
a stage wise selection process:
● Stage-1 -- Learning aspect : You would be
given a set of questions for which the resources will also be given so that you can learn and answer those questions. This will be released around 18th of December.
● Stage 2 - PCB designing :This is the skill
very much required for you to customize your watch, as you can add required sensors using PCB designing. So we will have a session on this and then do a task of designing your own PCB in that to test you. ● Stage-3-Hardware assembling - You may be asked to assemble circuits using microcontrollers and stuff which might test your hardware aspect.
Based on three stages or aspects we will be shortlisting
you people to make watches in groups.
2.The Mode of this Event:
So by reading the answer for the first question you
would have realized that this is not a one day event.
The first stage is done by releasing the application
online and receiving entries online.
Rest all are offline only. It is a very long process
(making watch takes time right). It might go up to the first week of March 2024.
3.Group or Individual?
So the whole selection process is to be done
individually. The final stage of completely assembling the watch is to be done in groups which we will make among the people we shortlisted finally. 4.Materials to make the final product
This is not gonna worry any of the participants. We,
the organizers, are solely responsible for providing you.
And also NO FEE required to participate in this
MakerFest.
5.Prerequisites
The end time of this event will tell you that it is a
learning process. Even for the learning aspect stage, resources are given. Please do follow that.
Mentioning it again no prerequisites are required.
This whole process will be structured in such a way that you learn in it, and implement it as well.
6.Who can participate in it?
Anybody who has enthu to put the app, attend
sessions and stick on to the learning curve are welcomed to enjoy the process. 7. What will we do in the watchmaking process?
I don’t want to make you feel like pulling off an Hill at
first. Let me put it up simply.
Once you get through the selection process, you will
completely build a watch, given a display and skills like PCB designing and hardware assembling which we will take sessions on well ahead of the time you need.
At last to re-emphasize on this thing:
THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION OR A ONE DAY EVENT.
THIS WILL GET YOU TO ENJOY A COMPLETE LEARNING CURVE.
