CWTS MODULE 1 - Introduction to National Service Training Program

ASSESSMENT

Task 1:

1. Section 2 – Declaration Policy of RA 9163 states that “It is hereby affirmed the prime duty of the
government to serve and protect its citizens. In turn, it shall be the responsibility of all citizens to
defend the security of the State and in fulfillment thereof, the government may require each
citizen to render personal, military, or civil service.” How can you contribute to the State as a
student of NSTP?

By participating and volunteering in community and government-led programs and activities such
as planting tress to aid in improving the quality of the state. Advocating and having a voice to
address issues and supporting the government programs and/or policies to the betterment of the
nation and conducting educational awareness about the social issues that our country faces (e.g.,
HIV/Aids, teenage pregnancy, safety, and health). Furthermore, spreading responses activities to a
disaster, such as rescue and relief operations to the most affected areas for them to lessen the
effect of calamities.

2. In your own words, how do you define National Service Training Program?

National Service Training Program (NSTP) provides students with lots of opportunities to explore
and engage in numerous community and civic activities. This program also develops the student’s
capability and allowing them to have a broad scope of understanding to the community and nation
development. NSTP assist us to gain valuable skills that we can apply through our journey as it
actively participates in shaping us, the future of our community, and the country at large.

3. Have you participated in voluntary, civic consciousness activity, or community immersion


programs before? Tell us about your experience.

No, but I am more excited to participate voluntarily now that I have a chance to make a positive
impact on our community.
