Lesson Plan in Mathematics 3

Quarter 4 Week 7
I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the pupils are expected to:
 infers and interprets data presented in different kinds of bar graphs (vertical/ horizontal) M3SP -IVh -3.3
 Natatalakay ang pinanggalingan ng produkto ng kinabibilagang lalawigan
Content Standard:
 demonstrates understanding of bar graphs and outcomes of an event using the
terms sure, likely, equally likely, unlikely, and impossible to happen.
Performance Standard:
 The learner is able to create and interpret simple representations of data (tables and
single bar graphs) and describe outcomes of familiar events using the terms sure, likely, equally likely,
unlikely, and impossible to happen.

II. Subject Matter: Mathematics (Interpreting bar graphs)


Reference:
Material: Laptop, picture word, cartolina strips, and chalk

III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities

Drill: “Ang Akong Gigikanan (My Origin)”


Directions:
 The teacher will prepare cut- out pictures or material regarding the products and industries that is
abundant in region 11.
 The teacher will call-out some of the pupils to pick a picture and classify whether its coming
from land or water resources.
Questions:
1. Based on our activity where can we find more resources? In water or in land?
(The teacher will then count the number of resources/products in each box and somehow make a
table and ask some question about it)
2. What products we usually see in our community?
3. What will do to take good care of our resources?

Review:

1. What is the most favorite fruit of grade 3 pupils?


2. What is the least favorite fruit of grade 3 pupils?
3. Why should we organize the data in the table?
To answer correctly the question talking about collecting data we need to arrange and analyze the data in the
table.

Motivation “Kaabunda”

1. The teacher will present a graph showing the abundance of each of the province of Davao Region.
2. The teacher will then ask whether these resources are coming from land or water.
3. The teacher will ask some question about the graph for the students to widen their knowledge regarding
the abundance of the resources in Region 11.

B. Developmental Activities
Setting of Standards
1. The class will be divided into 3 groups.
2. Each group will be given a task card to be accomplish within 3 minutes.
3. Presentation of the output.

Abstraction/Generalization

Konsepto:
A bar graph uses bars to describe or display collected data or information. It has various parts as follows:
1. Title: This is the part that tells what the bar graph is about.
2. Numbers: This shows how many the data is.
3. Label: This tells what each bar in the bar graph represents.

To interpret the bar graph, see and understand the parts of the bar graph. Compare the label to the numbers
it represents.

Application
The teacher will present pictures of different kind of fruits seen around. The students will make a vote on what
they like the most. The teacher will tally the record and help the students to create a graph.
