Overpopulation is one of the most severe threats to the world, producing

economic, social, and environmental problems. It has been growing at an
alarming rate, and it is a worldwide phenomenon. This essay will elucidate the
causes and solutions for this pressing issue.

First, the apparent reason for cities’ overcrowding is that they entice people with
abundant educational, medical, and employment options. Individuals are drawn
to metropolitan centres because they offer a variety of opportunities such as
better paying professions and better work-life balance. This situation can be
resolved by government and business measures such as expanding industrial
parks in suburban areas, increasing propaganda about the harmful effects of
overcrowding in urban areas, and upgrade infrastructure in suburban areas such
as schools, hospitals.
Another important cause of overpopulation in large cities is the loss of birth
control when the annual rate of births is too large. This leads to increased
demand for accommodation, education, medical services, etc., causing the
harmful effects of overcrowding to increase. Every family needs to have a clear
sense of controlling the number of children born and have a clear reproductive
plan. The government also needs to have appropriate propaganda campaigns to
help people raise awareness about this issue.

To sum up, overpopulation is a big problem in the current global context,

requiring solutions when it has reached an alarming level. Although there is no
easy solution to this complex problem, with the efforts of the government and
people, this problem can be minimized.
