This FAQ is a simple little thing thrown together to help those who are trying
to earn all 50 medals in Culdcept (arguably one of the greatest games ever
created).
I'd like to that my friends Grant, Mike, Shaun and John for their assistance in
testing these methods. As well as ExMortis, armadi and Ben Ra for finding other
methods to earn medals.

BASIC INFO

All medals can be earned in Story mode, or in Versus mode against Story
characters only (custom AI characters don't count)
Most medals cannot be earned with teammates.

at the Medals screen.

At the end of the FAQ is a list of all rewards given for earning set amount of
medals.

MEDALS
*******************************************************************************
Wiseman Goligan, staff of Culdra, adorns on the medal. It is given to those who
complete the given tasks.
Soltis adorns this medal. It is given to those who gather the majority of the
fragments of Culdcept and are able to use the freely.
Collect more than 500 total cards.
Culdra is decorated on this medal. Culdra herself will honor those who have
walked endless miles.
* Scholar of Monsters
Medal of Borgess, the scholar of monsters. Those who have obtained the
knowledge of all creatures will be given proof.
* Scholar of Artifacts
Medal of Sage, the guardian of items. Those who have obtained the knowledge
of all items will be given proof.
* Scholar of Sorcery
Medal of Sorcery, the truth seeker of magic. Those who have obtained forbidden
knowledge about magic will be given proof.
* Two-Headed Attacker
This medal honors those who take on two opponents at once and declare victory.
The medal is modeled after the two-headed monster Cerberus.
* Solitary Swordsman
Medal of Samurai contains the technique of a determined blow. Those who compete
and defeat many opponents and claim victory will be awarded.
* Proof of Friendship
Medal honors those who protect the life of the ally rather than the life of
their own is honored this medal. Modeled after the Carbuncle animals that
protect their own kind.
Not once was the ally denied toll. Victory in using the Malthessburg map in an
alliance battle.
- In a team game, your ally has to be the only one to collect any tolls for
your team.
* Death Bearer
Medal of the spirit of Wraith that brings forth death. Gives a cold soul to the
opponent after a defeat.
* Proof of Knighthood
Medal of Knight in armor. Given to those who are able to defeat dragon-eyed
Cepter and show active minds.
Victory by using the battle against Zeneth with a difference of more than 5000G
in magic powers.
- Zeneth will appear as an opponent on the first stage (Dunnan) when you beat
Story Characters 50 times or you after beat the Cratos stage during story mode.
* Repeated Victory
Medal of the Gladiator that wins every battle. Given to those who fight battles
repeatedly like that of a gladiator.
Medal of Nike, Angel of Victory. Those with many victories will receive a
blessing from Nike.
* Roaring Fame
Medal of beast Gigantherium. Those with larger fortune along with many
victories are credited.
* Cosmic Mystery
Medal of Little Gray. When mystical ancient idols gather and diffuse power, it
is said that the mystery of the universe appears.
- Have one of each idol in play (under your control) when you win the battle.
- The idols are Basalt, Brass, Cray, Ebony, Gold, Granite, Iron, Ivory, Jade,
Marble and Silver
Medal of Zombie, The Living Corpse. The medal is based on the great loss in the
battle at the King's Metropolis.
Loss except for a sudden death after having under 100G status using the
Malthessburg map.
Those who are able to see the light on the road of self torment similar to what
the apes performed, will be awarded the medal.
* Destroyer of Articles
Medal of Gremlin who wipes out goods. Given to those who did not rely on the
power of the gods to win a victory.
Victory by accumulating 10000G in toll and a book without a single item card.
* Denier of Spells
Medal of Cait Sith, the magical cat who destroys spells. Given to those who do
not fall into the dark depths of evil and continued fighting with an honest
heart.
Medal of the Marble Idol that does not allow similar species. Proof given to
those who do not rely on one thing and continue to fight with flexibility.
Victory by using the book with only one of the same card.
Medal of Decoy. Rather celerated despite belonging with the neutral creatures.
Given to those who claimed victory solely with the neutral creatures.
METHOD 1:
- Play on a map with has a 4 way intersection, and place a Quake Beast in the
center. Use it's ability to lower the 4 surrounding lands at once.
* Dragon Slayer
With minimal power, take down the beastly dragon and you will be given the
great honor of the courage and wisdom.
* Mechanical Duke
Command the battle gear effectively and you will receive a medal honoring the
duke of machinery.
- When you use Battle Gear Alpha and Beta together in battle (they both have
support) they combine into a Bundlegear.
* Exiler of Existence
Proof given to those who have brought forth the Death Gaze's power thus giving
their opponent tremendous fear.
Make the number of the opponent book total less than 40 with Death Gaze.
- Death Gaze is an Earth creature which when destroyed in battle, has an 80%
chance of removing the card which destroyed it from the game.
Medal given to those who exhibit Gooba Queen's great power and succeed in
burying the land with Gooba.
* Wind Rider
Medal given to those who exhibit Power Eater's powers and succeed in dyeing the
land a color of unison.
- Power Eater is a Wind creature which "clones" itself when it moves, leaving
a copy of itself in its original location as well as its new one.
Proof given to those who utilize solely the most common things in the group of
Culdcept cards. Inscribed is Goblin, the claimed representative of the common
things.
Victory by utilizing a book with only N cards that total over 10000G in magical
powers.
Proof given to those who utilize solely the fairly strange groups of Culdcept
cards. Motive is to utilize the Ninja that the cards especially prefer.
Victory by utilizing a book with only S cards that total over 10000G in magical
powers.
Proof given to those who obtained victory by only utilizing the highest rarity
among the Culdcept cards. It is modeled after the crazy Lunatic Hare.
Victory by utilizing a book with only R cards that total over 10000G in magical
powers.
Medal of the Giant Beast Leveler who destroys the land. Proof given to those
obtaining victory despite being trampled by the Leveler and the entire land
being completely destroyed.
- ALL lands, yours and the computer's, must be at level 1 when you win.
Proof given to those who destroy all the surrounding the area, and take on the
dyring Basilik's methods.
* Unifier
Medal of the Great Sea Creature Leviathan. Victory given to those who can sink
all enemy land as Leviathan can, and not let the enemy gain territory.
* Fortune Bearer
Medal of Cornfolk. Proof given to those who build land rich in nutrients.
* Administrator of Fertility
Medal of Lacy, the protector and power of the lands. Those who meet up to the
levels of Leshy and have gained elements of the land will be awarded.
METHOD 1:
- Raise one land of each element to level 5.
METHOD 2:
- When you win, one complete set of elemental lands (ie. all Earth) must be
level 5.
* Avaricious Smile
Medal of Gnome, spirit of the land. Given to those who gain strength after
defeating Gnome.
- Normal max toll is 2252, but Gnome (an Earth creature) earns you 1.5x regular
toll fees. There are also a few Spell cards which increase tolls.
Medal of evil spirit Larvae who calls forth bad luck. Those who obtain this is
said, in a way, to have a determined soul.
METHOD 1:
- Lose 3000G or more TOTAL during a match.
METHOD 2:
- Lose 3000G or more AT ONCE. Generally in the same way as for the previous
medal.
* Lucky Scale
Medal that modeled after the water horse Kelpie. This is unattainable unless
you encounter great luck, or are sly.
* Ominous Fang
Medal modeled after the Vampire. Proof of those who are seemingly cursed by the
Vampire and lose evil powers repeatedly.
Medal of Barrow Wight, who urges sleep. Given to those who have claimed victory
by amazingly not having lost any magical powers not once, either by luck or by
a secret method.
* Wings of Swiftness
Medal of Wyvern, the flying creature. Given to those who claim victory
instantaneously, giving no chance to the enemy.
Victory before getting to round 20 excluding sudden death.
METHOD 1:
- Defeat your opponent without allies in under 20 turns.
METHOD 2:
- Play a 3 on 1 team battle, with victory conditions set low.
Medal of Sanctum Guard, the protector of the temple area. Those who hold this
medal will themselves be called the protector of the temple area as well.
* Merciless Breath
Medal of Old Willow. He was used by a powerful Cepter to suck away the enemies'
magical powers.
* Scythe of Insanity
Medal of Executor. Given to those who use the magical powers of battle and
destroy many enemies.
* Solid Defense
Medal of Wall of Stone. Given to those who protect many territories as like
Stonewall with resistance.
Medal of Banshee, who calls forth death. At the sight of this, enemies will
lose the will to fight and will flee.
- Banshee (a Water creature) has a Territory Ability which makes all creatures
lose 25% of their MAX HP.
* Time Tramper
Medal that models the great creautre King Tortoise. Luck will follow if you
have a great soul like that of the great creature's steps.
Rolling a die and getting a 1 three times consecutively without using spells.
Medal of Anubias. Given to those who utilize the creatures' defensie power and
make the enemies harmless.

Dead ends connect at the edge. Which route to take and when is the key.

This covers the entire distance of this incredibly sized map. Be careful of
your magic power!

Temple map containing two areas. How you approach the Temple is the real
battle.

Item Limit - Scroll
ST is number of territories the opposing Cepter has x10. HP is number of
territories the user has x10.
- Knight with the face of a lion. Soltis mourned for the noble knight when he
died for justice and converted his soul into a card.

Polymorph
Spell - Single Instance - E
G 80 + Card
Random transformation of target creature.
- Artificial card created by the distorted experiement of the alchemist.
Effect is uncertain with no ability to predict the results.
*** 20 Medals
23: Twister
Each area has a small circle with high land value. It is difficult to obtain
lap bonuses for this map.

30: Combination
The land value in the Southern area is expensive. Beware of the Warp Areas on
both sides.

Dragon Helm

Critical hit to Fire and Wind creature. Neutralize attack of Water and Earth
creatures. Ignores item destroy/capture effects.
- Created to protect the people from the creatures that have raged out.
Astral Queen
Creature - Neutral - E
ST 30 HP 40
G 70 + Card
Territory [60] All creatures given "Camouflage" effect. HP increased by the
number of positions Neutral creatures x5.
- Queen of the astral world. Sealed by Soltis because she used the powers
against the elemental gods.
*** 30 Medals
Gathering 30 medallions symbolizes your love for all beings. You will be
awarded with the power of ligh with this Lightcraft card.
Lightcraft
Spell - Multiple Instance - E
G 50
All Cepters' books return to their status at the beginning of the game. All
hands will be discarded and five new cards drawn.
- Power is gathered to condemn the people with hardships.

This map has divisions in two areas. This map contain specific rules.

Defense Boost (offense creature HP-20).
Territory [50] 50 damage to target enemy creature with elements that mismatch
- As ancient relic, it's a mysterious statue said to have trapped a god.
Energy Flash
Spell - Multiple Instance - E
G 100 + Card
Destroys all creatures placed on level 1 territory.
- Protector of territories.
*** 45 Medals
Gathering 45 medallions symbolizes that you mastered your Cepter abilities. For
this accomplishment, you will be awarded the power Darkcraft and Talisman.
Darkcraft
Spell - Mulitple Instance - E
G 70
The Cepter that has the most symbols will lose 30% of the most owned symbols.
- The powers of the darkcraft surpass that of our imagination.
Talisman
Item - Item - E
G 100
Destroy opponent's item at start of battle.
Neutralize attack (excluding Scroll).
Puts Effect of "Land Protect" on defense creature.
- Symbol of personified magical powers. The stronger it is, the longer Soltis
existed.

31: Roca
Another simple map. It's slightly larger than Dunnan.

The area separates to the left and right. This map contains specific rules.

38: Bisteam
Many divided areas, one wrong move and you will not be able to return. This map
contain specific rules.

Utilizing the land containing the four blind alleys will be the key to victory.
