4. Taxis trying to kill you?
I came here to look for something. Yet it often feels like the answer was already within me all along. Perhaps the reason I travel is to
glimpse a mirror into my life. To appreciate what I already have and reaffirm what I am striving for. To be grateful and more
appreciative of home.
I don’t think I learn so many new lessons from travel, there are things I already know theoretically. But it gives great substance to
these theories. It gives me concrete examples and experiences. It gives me confidence in my beliefs. It teaches me things I know with
my cognitive mind, through my physical and temporal senses.
Have I really invested in my relationships back home? What might that look like? Dad don’t want to stop working or take my money.
Mom won’t get a job. Bro and Sis are living their own lives.
Plan better trips
o X times a month
o Simple movie / running / restaurant / places to explore in MNL
o Plan places
Invest
I am suffering from overplanning. Rather, I can get farther by not planning. 3 weeks focused on doing fun but affordable things with
my friends and family. Instead of purely gaming overnight. Book overnight. Writing. Cards. Seeing nearby areas (Intramuros).
I am thinking of fun as a limited resource like money. Of spending time with others versus alone as some resource. Misconception that
if I have long travels with others, I then need to be alone in my room for a long time.
The world is big. So big. If we could all somehow understand and be kinder to each other. That would be a huge step. Perhaps in the
past this was enforced by religion, culture, hierarchy. History is underrated.
India is so huge. So damn huge. People are kind as well. : )
The stares hurt. I feel like a white chick in Africa. The world can be scary. Security matters more.
Things I like : Chai, Eagles, Seagulls

Takeaways
1. Philippines has beautiful mountains, terraces, and mountain passes
2. Trail running is incredibly fun and fulfilling
3. Rediscovering your home country is the best
4. Traveling with family and friends, is just a unique experience
The Philippines is a hidden beauty. It takes time and effort to explore. But it is ultimately rewarding.
The Philippines is my country. It's proud to revisit it.
Traveling with strangers is fun, but so is with friends and family. And traveling with both, well it's tough but definitely an
interesting experience. Getting to see different sides of each other. Coming together in times of difficulty and storm.
The Philippines is big! There are so many other fellow travelers, hikers, runners out there. Bigger community than I realized.
Just need to find it and let myself be part of something bigger.
The mountains are calling. Beautiful. Nothing like feeling the wind on your skin, smelling the fresh breeze, slightly wet
mildew, basking in the sunlight, and feeling the chill. WOO that's what life is about!!!

2. Should I record as we fill in the blanks? (Try)

Voiceover: (1) One thing I love about visiting the mountains 7AM
is the drive going up there. There is something so beautiful
about driving by windows rolled down, wind rushing through
your hair, the scent of fresh air, and seeing the tall gray
cityscape melt into wide open blue skies, and lush greenery.
Stopped by a Field to Test our the Drone
Voiceover: Since I brought my DJI mini 3, and we were
ahead of the pack because my friend is a great driver, decided
to take a break beside a beautiful rice field and take some
shots.
Was nice to just stop whenever we wanted, instead of having
to follow a tour bus schedule.
Caught a farmer hard at work planting his delicious rice.

Voiceover: Homestay. No aircon already cold. Wood. Little
insects due to the cold? Water freezing. Overall quite clean
and cozy like a wooden cabin. Big house, shared rooms to
bring people together. Mattresses hella thin so bit painful on
the back.
Voiceover: I ended up changing to 27KM. My friends were
all doing 27KM. Didn’t want to be alone. Also wanted to see
more of Banaue trail. Only happens when you go the longer
