G20 PRESIDENCY AND RELEVANCE

FOR INDIA
The G20 Leaders' Summit 2023 is scheduled to take place on September 9-10,
2023, in New Delhi, India. The theme of the summit is "One Earth, One Family,
One Future," which emphasizes the interconnectedness of all living beings on
Earth and the importance of environmental sustainability. Under the Indian
Presidency, the G20 in 2023 will focus on various tracks, including agriculture,
anti-corruption, culture, digital economy, disaster risk reduction, development,
education, employment, environment and climate sustainability, energy
transitions, health, trade and investment, and tourism. The Indian Presidency
also aims to highlight the concept of Lifestyle for Environment (Life),
encouraging environmentally sustainable choices at both the individual and
national levels.
The G20 is a group of 19 countries and the European Union, representing the
world's major economies. The 19 countries are Argentina, Australia, Brazil,
Canada, China, Germany, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of
Korea, Mexico, the Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the
UK, and the US. India holds the Presidency of the G20 from December 1, 2022,
to November 30, 2023.Overall, the G20 Leaders' Summit 2023 in New Delhi
will serve as a platform for global leaders to discuss and address pressing issues
facing the world, with a focus on environmental sustainability, economic
cooperation, and achieving common goals for the well-being of humanity and
the planet.
