ADJECTIVES

* An adjective is a word that describes a noun.

:For example *

short tall fat thin

sad happy cold hot

heavy light brave scared

naughty polite hungry thirsty

strong weak angry tired

 : Examples *

1- This is a big elephant.

( Big is an adjective that descries the elephant)

2- This is a fat cat.

( Fat is an adjective that describes the cat)

Adjectives may come after a verb to be ( am – is – are ).

- Examples:

1- I am an old man.
(old is an adjective that describes the man)

2- She is a clever teacher.

(clever is an adjective that describes the teacher)

3- We are a happy family.

( happy is an adjective that describes the family)

Adjectives may come after a verb to have ( has – have).

1- I have a small dog.

( small is an adjective that describes the dog)

2- My brother has a beautiful toothbrush.

( beautiful is an adjective that describes the toothbrush)

 Colours Colours are adjectives.

1- They have a yellow cat.

2- The bag is pink.
