Use of the past simple

Verb tense used to express actions or


estates that began and ended in the past.

PAST CONTINUOUS
Use of past continuous:
We form the past continuous with was / were +-ing. The forms for he, she and it
are the same as for I, and the forms for we and you are the same as for they.
We use the past continuous to talk about activities in progress in the past. We
use it when we want to focus on a particular moment.
