Portfolio Project Reflection

This project was very important for me as it helped me to learn more about the legal and
ethical aspects of business. I think that this knowledge will be very useful for my future
career, as I will be able to understand the rights and responsibilities of different parties in a
business transaction, as well as the potential risks and consequences of violating the law or
ethical standards. I will also be able to apply the concepts and principles of business law and
ethics to various scenarios and cases that I may encounter in my professional life.

This project also met the Program and Institutional outcomes as stated on the first page of
the course syllabus. For example, one of the Program outcomes was to “demonstrate
effective communication skills in a variety of business situations”. I think that this project
helped me to achieve this outcome by requiring me to write a clear and concise report on a
legal issue, using appropriate terminology, format, and citation style. Another Program
outcome was to “apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze business issues
and recommend solutions”. I think that this project helped me to achieve this outcome by
requiring me to research and evaluate different sources of information, identify relevant facts
and laws, and propose a reasonable and ethical solution for the legal issue.

One of the Institutional outcomes was to “demonstrate information literacy skills”. I think
that this project helped me to achieve this outcome by requiring me to use various online
tools and databases to find reliable and credible information on business law and ethics, such
as the web search results from Bing. Another Institutional outcome was to “demonstrate
professionalism”. I think that this project helped me to achieve this outcome by requiring me
to adhere to the academic integrity policy, respect the opinions and perspectives of others,
and submit my work on time.
