1. Blood donation camp

Blood Donation Camps are conducted twice a year in the college campus. A large number of
students along with faculty of MRCET take part in donating blood in the camp organized by
NSS volunteers in association with Red Cross Society, Thalassemia Society, Lions Club
and Rotary club of Hyderabad. The camps play a vital role in saving lives. Every year more
than 1000 Units of Blood is collected in the camp. Moreover, the volunteers rush to different
hospitals to donate blood in case of emergency.
2. Swachh Bharat Summer Camp

NSS volunteers of our college (MRCET) participated in the cleanliness drive under the
programme ‘Swachh Bharat Summer Camp’. Students cleaned the campus and in the
adopted villages raising the slogan ‘One step towards cleanliness’. The NSS volunteers
participated in creating awareness among public, informing them about the importance of
cleanliness. The students took the initiative to clean the surroundings of vicinity.
3. Yoga

On 21st June International Yoga day was celebrated by NSS volunteers in Ramakrishna
math. Four teachers co-ordinated and nearly 354 have participated. A practice session and
demonstration was organized by Yogacharyan Suresh Plavada. The students came to know
the importance of yoga after this event.
4. Plantation Awareness program

NSS unit of the college organizes Harithaharam Program by taking slogan as one plat one
student, an initiative of Telangana government. The program is conducted in college
premises as well as in the adopted villages to make the surroundings clean and green. More
than 145 volunteers participate to plant the saplings in different parts of the campus and then
went on a awareness rally in Misammauda village to request the people to plant the samplings
too.
5. Cyclothon - 10k Bicycle Rally

A cycle rally and a walk was organized on the occasion of National Sports Day on Saturday
under the name of GO GREEN to celebrate the birth anniversary of exemplary sports person
major Dhyan Chand. The Fit India Freedom Run is an initiative launched by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi from August 15 to October 2 under the aegis of Fit India Movement. As part
of the celebrations, officials of various sports organisations as well as our MRCET students of
various schools and other educational institutes participated in the freedom run and cycle ride.
6. Medical Camp

NSS unit has organizes Medical camps twice a year in the adopted villages where the
patients are treated. The volunteers go around the villages and bring the people to the camp.
The patients are enlightened of health care and importance of self care for a healthy life.
Volunteers created awareness through campaign on cleanliness, spread of diseases. Medicines
are distributed free of cost to the needy.
7. Seminar On Gender sensitization

On the occasion of Women’s day celebrated on 6th March 2020 MRCET organized the one
day seminar. The Seminar began with a basic understanding of the differences between sex
and gender, and how the latter was a social construct, and went on to discuss the massive
impact that gender norms had on all of us. Students were encouraged to give examples of how
they had seen gender discrimination play out in their daily lives and their families.
8. 5k Walk for Equality & Unity

With the help of cleanliness, we can keep our physical and mental health clean, which will
make us feel good. Cleanliness gives rise to a good character by keeping body, mind, and
soul clean and peaceful. Maintaining cleanliness is the essential part of healthy living because
it is the cleanliness only which helps to improve our personality by keeping clean externally
and internally.

The programs cover topics such as environmental awareness, criminal liability, small
quality generators, large quantity generators, and risk-management. The environmental
awareness video provides insight into the EPA's rulings and trains employees to protect the
environment. It includes sections of air quality, water quality, hazardous waste, and chemical
safety and use. The programs explain RCRA and the mismanagement of hazardous waste,
including identifying hazardous waste, transportation procedures, waste minimization
programs, emergency plans, and record keeping.
