To whom it may concern

My name is Ayobunmi D. Pacheco and I have been with the Veterinary Emergency Group, on
the Upper East Side, for a little over 3 years now. I have had the pleasure of working with
Kimberly Tierney from the moment I started with VEG in February 2020 until she left our facility
around July of 2022. Kimberly started at the Upper East Side location as an overnight Veterinary
Technician and worked her way up to a Veterinary Nursing Development Coordinator (VNDC).
During her time with us at UES, as one of our VNDC’s, she prepared weekly powerpoints for
both Veterinary Assistants and Veterinary Technicians on a variety of different topics, she would
host in person sessions on how to properly place an IVC, how to properly take ortho
radiographs, how to setup the anesthesia machine etc, and she also created laminated “cheat
sheets'' on the materials needed for a STAT laceration repair, UO setup, neonate resuscitation
kit, ect. Kimberly worked diligently with everyone in maintaining the goals that we set up and
always adjusted her schedule according to the needs of the hospital and staff.

Kimberly’s powerpoints, technician book guideline (that she created with pictures and up-to-date
information regarding medications/ reconstitution measurements and more), laminated “cheat
sheets”, bins located in surgery that have a printout of what is needed to do a STAT surgery
setup, and the documents/ helpful resources she placed on Trello are still in full rotation at this
facility. We utilize these resources to help train new VA’s, VT’s that are new to ER, even the
doctors go to the technician book guideline for help in how to set up and monitor a blood
transfusion or even to the laminated “cheat sheet” she created on how to reconstitute certain
medication during a STAT. Even though Kimberly’s time at UES as a VNDC might have been
short, she created an everlasting memory on our facility that is still being utilized to this day. The
knowledge, skills, and creativity she placed in our hands have become useful tools in training
new people, a point of reference when in doubt, and a comforting memory of when UES had a
VNDC that truly cared the way she did. Kimberly has so much to offer the Veterinary Emergency
Group and I hope that she is able to showcase all that she is capable of and more.

Sincerely,
Ayo P.

To whom it may concern,

I am writing this letter on behalf of esteemed coworker Kimmie Tierney. My name is Brandon
Jacobsen, and I have been a veterinary technician for thirteen years and emergency veterinarian for four
years (one with Veterinary Emergency Group). During my career in this ever-evolving and fast-paced
field, I have never had the opportunity of working with such a highly motivated and hard-working
individual as Kimmie until a year ago. She has thrived in not only a leadership position, but displays a
superior medical knowledge, advanced technical skill and levelheadedness that are all mandatory
attributes one must possess for a career in emergency veterinary medicine.

Kimmie is a prompt employee and is depended upon by many with confidence. I am most
impressed by her attention to detail in ill patients that sometimes go unnoticed by others, and her
medical math skills are second to none. There have been numerous times where I have relied on her to
wade through CRI calculations, and I and my colleagues can comfortably trust her to manage critical
table cases with minimal supervision. Kimie leaves personal matters at the door during work and puts
her team and animals before herself. She is incredibly receptive to constructive criticism, though these
instances are scarce.

In summation, I consider myself fortunate to know Kimmie not only as a friend, but a relentless
coworker who gives their all in ensuring the best patient care and outcome. I hold her to the highest
standards as to what a veterinary nurse should embody. She is always looking to improve and holds
frequent case discussions with coworkers in order to provide better patient care and become
increasingly efficient in the treatment room. I would dare to say that if there were no job titles on our
scrubs, it would be easy to mistake Kimmie for an emergency veterinarian based on knowledge and
compassion. Her affinity for calming clients, teaching her coworkers disease processes during down time
and providing technical instruction on procedures such as central line placement are only a few reasons
why I would recommend her for job placement and/or career advancement anywhere.

To whom it may concern,

I am proudly writing this letter on behalf of Kimmie Tierney to let you know how much

of an asset she is to the Veterinary Emergency Group. Kimmie could be best described as an

encouraging, motivational, and humble leader. Fortunately for me I had the great luck of being

recruited by Kimmie. I arrived at VEG as a newly Licensed Veterinary Technician moving up

from general practice. This was my first experience in emergency medicine.

In the beginning of my employment my shifts did not align with Kimmie’s shifts. I

worked the day shift while she worked the night shift. With that said, Kimmie recognized that

she didn't have the opportunity to reach all of the technicians and assistants while on shift. She

overcame this by organizing very successful one-on-one meetings, and group meetings that

would go into depth on complex topics. These meetings helped us all to work better as a team,

and immensely improved the quality of our patient care that our patients received. Through these

regularly scheduled lessons and meetings, Kimmie improved the confidence of many.

About a few months into my employment I began to switch to some of the overnight

shifts to better align my schedule with Kimmie. This way I would be able to learn some more

hands-on training. This allowed me to apply the skills that I had been working on; under her

guidance. Luckily, the overnight shifts were quiet which meant we had plenty of time to talk

about any topic I had questions about. We went over STAT scenarios, anesthetic drug protocols,

hospitalization of critical care cases, you name it.

Kimmie is a true leader in the Veterinary Emergency Group. Not only is she impressively

skilled and knowledgeable within veterinary medicine, but she is also willing to share that

knowledge by teaching others. Kimmie took me, like many others, under her wing and trained

me to become the technician that I am today. Kimmie is someone you would be privileged to

have on your team. I wish nothing but the best for Kimmie, as she has evidently worked hard to

get to where she is today. I will be forever grateful I had a teacher as great as her to learn from.

Her motivation to teach would be a continued asset to our company.

If you would like to discuss anything further or expand what I have written, please do not

hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your time,

To whom it may concern.

As a long time Veggie and a person that has been in the veterinary field for a decade I can’t help to look back at all the individuals that
helped me progressed in my career and always pushed me to do more. When I started at VEG 4 years ago the person that stands out
to me the most is Kimberly Tierney , she was the person that introduced me to emergency and gave me the tools that I needed to help
people ( and patients) when they needed most. Although I previously had experience in general practice , emergency was in a different
level.I expressed to Kimmie about my own doubts and insecurities in this new setting but she put those worries at ease and began
challenging me and teaching me until I was doing things on my own. The patience and knowledge it takes for someone to do that is
truly a skill that not many have and it takes a hardworking individual like her to take it upon herself to come up with guides , instruction
manuals, charts, medical calculators and going out of her way to help develop someone just so they can be the very best. I am very
thankful to Kimmie because of her teachings I was able to continue in ER and in VEG , although she moved I still have the manual
she gave me where she is still continues to help me I hope she continues to guide and help others in the vet field. Her experience and
knowledge is like a like a book and honestly it would be a shame to keep it on the shelf.

To Whom it May Concern,

I am writing to you today to provide a letter of recommendation and support for Kimmie Tierney, who is a nurse trainer and
highly skilled veterinary technician. I have had the pleasure of working with Kimmie, and I must say that she is truly
exceptional in her field. In my 7+ years in veterinary medicine, I have never come across someone with such vast knowledge.
In the short time I worked with Kimmie, she taught me more than any trainer I have ever worked alongside. Kimmie has an
outstanding ability to train and educate other nurses, assistants, and in my opinion, doctors. She is incredibly knowledgeable,
patient, and kind to everyone she works with. She is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that her 'students' are well-
equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their work. She is your biggest cheerleader and always abides
by company standards. Kimmie is, without a doubt, a huge asset to any company. Furthermore, Kimmie is an expert in
veterinary medicine. She is always up-to-date with the latest practices and techniques and has an innate ability to understand
the needs of the animals she works with. Her attention to detail and her ability to work efficiently under pressure make her an
invaluable member of any veterinary team. In conclusion, I highly recommend Kimmie Tierney for any position in the field of
veterinary medicine. She is truly a remarkable individual with an exceptional skill set and a genuine passion for her work. I
am proud to be able to call Kimmie a friend and a mentor, and I strive to grow like her in my line of work. Thank you for your
time and consideration. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out. Best regards,

I am writing on behalf of Kimmie Tierney.

I worked at VEG-Asheville from opening day (Oct 2023) until the end of August, at which time, I left for a different
opportunity.

During that time, I worked closely with Kimmie, and I cannot say enough good things about her.

She has a fantastic work ethic. Her dedication to patients and clients is outstanding and always on display. Her attitude
never flags, even in the face of very, very busy shifts. Even more importantly - she is incredibly gifted and
knowledgeable. She is always ready with an intelligent suggestion on complicated patients.

I can recall multiple critical cases where she was quick to suggest treatment options. I had no idea that she wasn't an
RVT, because her knowledge and skill level so far exceeded some of our licensed RVTs. I felt confident that I could leave
cases in her care and be completely assured that she knew what to monitor for and when to alert me.

On a personal note, Kimmie cares about people. She cares about doing her job well and teaching others to do it well.
She is very dedicated to VEG and the VEG way. Kimmie is always gently reminding people of the spikes and
encouraging everyone around her to be the best they can.

I feel honored to have worked with her, and I am proud to call her my colleague and friend. She is exceptional. VEG is
lucky to have her.

To whom it may concern, It is my pleasure to write to you on behalf of Kimberly Tierney

or as I know her by Kim/Kimmie. My name is Codie Fuller, I work as a Veterinary Assistant here
at VEG. I have known Kimmie for quite some time now and can honestly say she is the reason
why I am where I am today. My first couple weeks at the hospital she introduced herself and
made it clear to me that if I had any concerns or any questions to reach out to her. Being brand
new to Vet medicine let alone medicine all together, Kimmie made my experience memorable.
She is creative, outgoing, intuitive, smart, reliable, understanding, passionate and overall a hard
worker.

Kimmie in the time that I have known her has devoted her time and occasionally her free
time to help anyone who needs it, and is dedicated to helping both experienced and non
experienced veggies. After about a year of working with VEG I had begun to set my eyes on
becoming a Veterinary Technician. Not knowing what I needed to get started left me at a
crossroads, and Kimmie made that process seem easy. She directed me on who to speak to
and walked me through everything I needed for my journey in becoming a Tech. My passion to
become better and further my position here at Veg started with Kimmie and is staying strong
because of her.

Kimmie has spent her time Creating powerpoints, books, flash cards, papers,
one-on-ones and pretty much anything that could help anyone and everyone who has had the
pleasure of meeting her. With all the help and positivity that comes from her, it only pushes
passionate people to become the best versions of themselves. Her position/role here at VEG
can never be truly replaced, she is an individual who is needed because of what she has to
offer, and everything I have stated above only scratches the surface of who she is as a person,
the impact she has on everyone around her, and the potential there is for her to make Veg
better.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter, and I hope that you can come to see the
value and importance of having Kimberly Tierney.

To whom it may Concern,

I have known Kimmie in a professional capacity since 2019. In this time, Kimmie has consistently been a hard worker, efficient leader
and a team player. She was a VNDC at VEG UES and taught all the best technicians that work here today or have worked here most
of what they know. She went above and beyond in her teachings and always took the time to ensure everything was done well.

With all she has given to the company and to the veterinary field, Kimmie is the spirit of VEG and veterinary medicine in general. She
has given herself wholly to the company and has helped UES improve leaps and bounds. When she moved, it was at the detriment of
this hospital and I feel her compensation should try to match her previous efforts and her future in this company where she continues
to be an invaluable asset. I cannot speak more highly of Kimmie.

To Whom It May Concern:

It is my pleasure to have an opportunity to write a letter in support of VEG Asheville’s very own
Kimmie Tierney. Since my first day at VEG, Kimmie has proven to me time and time again the
amazing nurse, educator, and ally she really is.

VEG Asheville is very lucky to have Kimmie s a part of our family. Her extensive knowledge
and experience within VEG are so valuable to not only the hospital but to me as a fresh VEGgie.
I know I can always go to her for knowledge and support without any judgment. Any time I have
a question about pretty much anything, whether it is how to perform a skill or something VEG-
related, I know Kimmie has a document or resource she created or compiled to share about it. To
me, amazing to work with someone with the unwavering ability to share knowledge and support
like that. She is always ready to jump in and help, and is always the first to ask, “Do you want to
learn how to do this?” The way Kimmie interacts with customers, patients, and our fellow
VEGgies is very special. She is a comforting person to be around and an easy person to talk to in
a difficult situation. In such a short time, Kimmie has been instrumental in my growth as a nurse
in emergency and critical care, a communicator, and learning the VEG way.

I fully believe that Kimmie is indispensable to VEG Asheville; she is a unique, talented
veterinary professional, a wonderful communicator, and really who I picture when I think about
VEG and our core values. She is clearly a hard-working and dedicated person, to this field and to
VEG and it reflects very clearly in her skillset, knowledge, and many years with VEG.

Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern,

Kimberly “Kimmie” Tierney is a crucial member of VEG’s veterinary nursing team. Her expertise
and skill set rival most colleagues I have worked with in Veterinary Medicine. Her dedication
and willingness to lead by service make her invaluable to upholding the tenets of the VEG
manifesto and to the advancement of our field.

Working with Kimmie at VEG and as her instructor in an accredited veterinary medical
technology program, I witness many values which she embodies. At VEG, Kimmie uses her
talents by modeling the way, inspiring the vision, and consistently seeking to improve the
process. Numerous times, I turn to Kimmie for help. No matter the task, she is always happy to
lend a hand, apply her knowledge, and find a solution. She is selfless in sharing her time and
abilities. She promotes togetherness and finds any opportunity to create meaningful, teachable
moments. Her heroic helping extends into the classroom where she thoughtfully uses
opportunities to impart her extensive knowledge of emergency medicine and triage from her
countless years of experience, while working diligently to learn, grow, and improve .

Any instructor, employer, or teammate will find it easy to rely on Kimmie. Kimmie constantly
encourages those around her. She excels in developing brilliant education and training
materials, enabling other Veggies (and classmates) to try and to act. Kimmie has dedicated and
sacrificed so much for the betterment of VEG and Veterinary Medicine. We are all so fortunate
to share this space with her and owe her a debt of gratitude.

To whom it may concern:

It is with pleasure I write this letter in support of Kimmy Tierney.

When I began working as an ER nurse at Veterinary Emergency Group I felt overwhelmed with
the demands of the position. I have been licensed and practicing for over 26 years at that point,
but my emergency skills were a bit rusty after working only at a small animal practice on my
previous position. It was Kimmy who served as a bridge into my new demands in the ER.
Kimmy's knowledge always seems to go beyond the tasks at hand. She is laser focused and
precise. However it is her ability to share her knowledge that makes her special. She has such a
clear, concise and friendly way of teaching that you can then go out on the floor and practice
what she's taught you with confidence.
It is obvious to me that, with the support of her current employers, Kimmy would continue to be
an invaluable asset to the company if given the proper tools.
Kimmy is a reliable, consistent and creative coworker who supports her colleagues, takes
initiative and is an absolute pleasure to work with.
I hold Kimmy very highly on my list of favorite educators, as well as I am proud to call her a
friend.

To whom it may concern

My name is Yadira Blanco, a fellow VEGgie and I am writing this letter in order to express my
support for Kimberly Tierney.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kimberly at VEG UES three years ago. She was my mentor and
helped me diligently as I transitioned from general practice to emergency medicine. Kimberly is
very knowledgeable and loves to teach. She has helped me grow and expand my skills and
knowledge in veterinary medicine by always being available on the floor and taking the time to
make PowerPoint presentations on topics that her teammates may be struggling with. Even on
her days off, Kimberly would always be available to answer any questions or concerns and
would happily walk me through any concerns.

I believe Kimberly has always strived to go above and beyond to make sure her VEGgie
teammates feel supported. I am personally thankful to her for helping me build my confidence in
ER and pushing me to reach my goals. Kimberly is a great VEGie and this is my testament to
her character.
To whom it may concern,

I’m writing on behalf of Kimmie Tierney. I have been working with Kimmie for approximately
one year. During this time Kimmie has shown outstanding work ethic and leadership skills
which has benefited assistants, technicians, and doctors.

There have been many occasions where customers have commented on Kimmie’s dedication
and compassion. She comes to work every day with a great attitude that radiates to the entire
team, even during the difficult shifts.

In addition to incredible attitude and customer relations, Kimmie is extremely knowledgeable.

There have been many critical cases she has assisted with and will lend a helping hand as well
as teach nurses who have questions with difficult cases. She has been a huge asset to the
hospital- there are multiple documents that help facilitate difficult cases and her medical
opinion is always appreciated. I, as well as the hospital, are fortunate to have Kimmie and her
all around good attitude, knowledge, and skills.

Regards,
Dr. MacKenzie Kuhlman
To whom it may concern,

I met Kim towards the end of 2020 when I started working at VEG. I had only worked in private
practice before this so I was excited about all the new things I would get to do. Before VEG I
never had to do CRIs, blood transfusions, sampling catheters or CPR on a regular basis so I
was nervous about doing a great job. Kim acted like a leader from the beginning. Anytime I
have questions she is there for support. There are plenty of times where she showed me how to
do something step by step so that I’m not confused (how to place a sampling catheter, testing
for blood transfusions, setting up CRIs, how to give certain drugs, etc). She is also wonderful at
providing resources to look back at for when she is not at work. On top of all of this, I really
enjoy “refreshing” my mind with her PowerPoint slides on our zoom meetings. All of this builds
our confidence in flying solo.

Sincerely,

To Whom it May Concern,

When starting at VEG, Kimmie Tierney welcomed me with open arms and support. She

continues to cultivate a positive atmosphere and is a joy to work with. She goes above and

beyond for the team not only with her advanced technical skills on the floor but also her

abundance of resources online that help the team each day. Kimmie is calm, eager to

teach/train, ready to jump in and help in any way, optimistic, and amazing with patient care.

I have had several questions throughout my employment with VEG regarding skills that I was

not used to performing. Kimmie was able to assist me through the skills with confidence and

clarity. She provides excellent hands-on training and can explain “the why” behind things.

Thank you,

To whom this may concern,

My name is Dianne Lawrence, and I have been working at the Veterinary Emergency Group for six
years. I met Kim Tierney when I first became a VNDC. Kim has taught me so much as a trainer and has
given me so much advice on how I teach the team new techniques when it comes to training. She has
shared her knowledge with me and other veggies along the way. She has been so helpful and courteous
when I need help with calculating complicated CRIs or even something so simple as “Hey, can you
administer plasma and fluids with additives through a triple lumen.” She never has an issue with
reaching out to her, even at the strangest hours of the night. Kim has also offered to help and share her
notes and slides regarding discussion topics. She is an asset to the veggie community.
