PROPOSED DOMESTIC
AIRPORT

DESIGN CONCEPT
PATADYONG
The concept of the design was derived from the
prominent textile woven in Iloilo, which is the
"patadyong." Its flatness signifies the horizontality
of the terrain, especially of Iloilo, while the
geometry of the plaids is a rendition of the angular
division of lowland agricultural plains. This idea is
associated with Prairie Style architecture. A key
characteristic of Prairie Style is horizontality; it’s an
architectural tool that ties the airport to the
landscape, grounding the structure to the property.
Horizontal lines are used in the Natural Modern
V
style to bridge a contemporary building with the
natural landscape. Horizontality can be seen in all
elements of the design, from the extreme roofline,
to the window orientation, to the linear nature of
the stone and siding

PROXEMICS
PROXEMICS
Dimensions play a crucial role in proactive, context-aware, and human-
centric systems and can help mediate interactions between elements
(people, objects) in the hypothetical police station environment. The idea
of usefulness is at the heart of the design. There are five proxemics
dimensions for the Proposed Domestic Airport that take into account
geographical and temporal features. The system-wide implementation of
proxemics was built on this.
LOCATION
Location describes where an object is situated within a building. The setting in
which the entities reside physically is described. The contextual location may
affect the interpretation
V
of the four other inter-entity metrics.
DISTANCE
The proposed Domestic Airport has discrete or continuous distances between
objects. The main predicate for proxemics implementation is distance. Using
typical facility and space standards, the initial dimensions and location of
facilities and equipment were matched.
MOVEMENT
It keeps track of the location and orientation of patrons over time. It laid the
groundwork for how people would behave in each section of the domestic airport,
making it possible to identify prospective acts and their potential scope.
IDENTITY
It gives a comprehensive description of the entity, from a thorough description of
the domestic airport to figuring out who is likely to use a certain place in order to
determine the amount of space that is available as well as the fixtures and
furniture. Additionally, it serves as a general description that makes it possible to
separate users.
V
ORIENTATION
Orientation and other delicate factors, such as distance, are important because
distance alone isn't always enough. The equipment inside the police station base
is kept in sync using orientation. For instance, the arrangement of the furnishings
and fixtures had a distinctive style.

PEDESTRIAN CIRCULATION
In order to provide comfort and the safest design possible, the
pedestrians were designed in a way that they could be used pleasantly
and that they could be easily assembled, made, and installed without any
confusion related with the process of usage.
VEHICULAR CIRCULATION
Two separate roadways make up the projected domestic airport's traffic
circulation. The first is a four-way road that runs directly in front of the
domestic airport, providing adequate space for people to exit and enter
V
the region while still allowing the two-way road to run smoothly to the
left and right of the site. Additionally, it follows continuous flow, which is
controlled by interactions between vehicles and between vehicles and
roadways. It also has three other parking spots,a public parking space
that can hold 320 automobiles is placed after the staff and
administrative parking area, which is on the left side of the building. .
Long-term parking is located on the right.

ARCHITECTURAL
NARRATIVE

PLANNING
The model is designed, with a distinct transition between public and
private spaces. The program follows precise hierarchical and functional
guidelines. The ground floor, which houses all public functions, is a
comfortable and welcoming space. On the ground floor, parking spaces,
sports clubs, and technical facilities are planned. On the first level,
offices, a restaurant, and an apartment entrance lobby are planned;
additional floors are planned for apartments. A balcony for the
inhabitants is located on the roof.
SUTAINABILITY
V
The new domestic airport in Mandurriao employs a successful strategy
to offer a sustainable design for a high-quality, comfortable
environment. To maintain a healthy, comfortable indoor environment
while requiring the least amount of energy and materials possible.
BUILDING
Staff members ought to come across as approachable and amiable. The
program's high level of security, usefulness, and adaptability necessitate
the suggestion of a compact, horizontal, abstract, and introverted
volume. On the opposite side of the main facade from the main entrance
is the staff entrance.
MATERIALS
Everything was made of high-quality
V
concrete and wood, and the color
white and cream takes shape. Its texture changes to distinguish the
different walls: textured concrete and wood cladding on the exterior,
polished stone and tiles on the floor, white brick and wood on the walls,
and pure white on the ceiling. The choice of materials also adds to the
formality of the design.
PROPOSED
MATERIALS

EXTERIOR WOODEN WALL
CLADDING
Wood is a strong yet lightweight material, offering protective and
decorative design functions.
Wood is easily worked to accomodate alterations and repairs.
Performance and longevity of lower durability (and cheaper) timber
species is easily enhanced by factory applied treatment technologies
(preservative treatment or wood modification).
The fire performance of timber can be upgraded with approved
factory applied flame retardants when deemed necessary
Surface finishes can be applied to customise appearance or give
added protection.
Suitable for both new build
V and renovation projects.
Dry installation means the external envelope is quicker to install
Timber clad buildings eliminate heavy masonry outer walls, reducing
size and cost of foundations.
Cladding panels may be factory pre-fabricated off-site, complete
with insulation and breather membrane saving time, labour and
costs.
TEXTURED CONCRETE WALL
Concrete advocates contend that the benefits on cheaper heating
and cooling costs, lower property insurance, and lower maintenance
costs outweigh the initial higher cost of building with concrete as
opposed to the more popular wood-frame construction.
The structural safety of concrete construction is by far its most
important benefit.
Concrete has a much higher resilience to wind-borne debris and a
V
much stronger compressive strength.
Compared to other materials, concrete walls are more fire resistant.
Concrete has "Excellent" sound-absorbing properties.
WHITE FLOORING
A white floor makes the space look light and more spacious and the
interior – more elegant. The times when white floors evoked
associations with a hospital operating room are long gone.
Nowadays we see a lot of exceptional flooring in pristine white or off
white shades.
The huge appeal of white is in its elegance and purity. It emphasizes
restraint and nobility of minimalist interiors, grace of antiquity,
brilliance and luxury of high technologies. White color on the floor
contributes to a change in geometry – the room seems to be filled
with air and the bright
V
surface increases space. This effect is
enhanced when combined with walls of the same shade.
WOODEN CEILING
Environmental friendly – ceilings made of natural material not only
allow you to emphasize the natural beauty of design in any room,
but are also completely safe for human health.
Versatility – wood offers a huge variety of textural solutions which
allows you to add character and individuality to any room. It comes
in panels, planks, tiles, and depending on the look you want to
achieve, you can choose from many options.
Durability – high quality wood will retain its original appearance for
a long time, and if properly maintained you will enjoy your beautiful
ceiling for decades
Insulating propertiesV– this is one of the great advantages of wood
compared to alternative materials. It has excellent soundproofing
properties and will eliminate irritating noises. .
Aesthetic appeal – the visual appeal of wood and its unique beauty,
the grain and richness of texture are features that people have
appreciated for hundreds of years and although modern industry
offers alternatives at a more affordable price, natural wood remains
one of the materials with highest aesthetic value.
