The document discusses solid waste management and reactions to a documentary on the topic. It notes that global solid waste production reached 1.3 billion tons in 2012 and is projected to grow to 2.2 billion tons by 2025 due to population growth and urbanization. The most important step for countries to take is to reduce the source of waste. Reducing waste production at the source is the best approach rather than dealing with waste afterward. While government regulations aim to protect the environment from hazardous waste, enforcement is sometimes lacking. Overall, increased awareness of waste disposal can help reduce the amount of waste produced.

In the globe, waste production rates are rising in
2012 the world's metropolis yielded 1.3 billion tons of solid material each year, amounting to the area of 1.2 kilograms per person per day. With fast population development and urbanization, domestic waste production is expected to grow to 2.2 billion tons by 2025. Personally, this is shocking due to the fact the amount of waste generated is increasing at a rapid pace. Besides, I think the number of landfills has increased dramatically over the last decade. There is a question on the video about solid waste management which is, “What is the most important step the country should take to counteract adverse effects of solid-waste management?” then someone answered that the solution to this deteriorating problem is to reduce the source of these waste. I strongly agree with this because first of all, we would not have to deal with any kind of waste if it wasn't for the companies, organizations, or people that contribute to the growth of solid wastes. In addition to this, I am glad that the government proposes plans and laws that protect the environment from hazardous waste. At the same time, I get disappointed sometimes because some officials only do the job of implementing it and putting it into practice when Election Day is approaching. Despite all that, I avoid thinking negatively and focus on hoping that the government will do something about solid waste management. I believe there are many ways to reduce the amount of waste we produce. I believe that if we have a better understanding of how our waste is being disposed of then it will be easier for us to make changes in our practices.
The Environment We Are Living in Is in Danger Due To Various Problems So Who Do U Think Should Be Responsible For Solving It? Is It The Governments, Organization or Each Individual?
