Dear parent/guardian: 12/14/09

Studies show that music can boost a person’s endurance by 15%. The Tuffree Physical
Education department is working on improving student endurance so that they will have a happy,
healthier lifestyle. In order to optimize their running endurance, we would like to give your
student the chance to workout with their MP3, IPod players. You will need to give your
permission for the student to have the player at school and to be used during physical education
ONLY on selected cardio days.

The Physical Education Teachers, Tuffree Middle School and the Placentia-Yorba Linda School
District are not responsible for lost or stolen players. The student is responsible for the player
at all times that they bring them on campus. The student may only use them during physical
education class on specified days and must have the permission card (given once the permission
slip is turned into their teacher) attached to the player at all times during class. The
permission card may only be used by the person who owns the player.

Both locker rooms will be open before school in order for students to lock their devices in
his/her locker and for a short time after school to retrieve them at the end of the day.

If you give permission for your child to bring their IPod, MP3 player to school to be used for
improvement of their endurance ONLY on designated days and only during Physical
Education—please sign the permission slip below and have your son/daughter return it to their
physical education teacher.

By signing below, I give permission for son/daughter to bring their Ipod, MP3 player to school
and understand that Tuffree physical education teachers, Tuffree Middle School and/or
Placentia Unified School District are not responsible if the device is lost or stolen. Student’s
IPOD pass may be revoked at any time by a teacher for improper usasge based on our
discretion.
