Newton Law of Motion

Isaac Newton
(4 January 1963)
Newton's laws were first mentioned by Newton in his book entitled Philosophiæ Naturalis
Principia Mathematica. Until now, this book is considered the most influential book in the
history of human science. There are 3 Newton's laws discovered and each law has a different
meaning and formula.

Newton First Law (Law of Inertia)

Every object will maintain a state of rest or move uniformly in a straight line,
unless a force acts to change it.

In mathematical equations, Newton's 1st law can be written as follows:

∑ 𝐹⃑ = 0

Newton Second Law (Ammount of Force)

The change in motion is always directly proportional to the force produced/worked,

and has the same direction as the normal line from the point of tangency.
to the force of the object.

In mathematical equations, Newton's 2nd law can be written as follows:

∑ 𝐹⃑ = 𝑚 . 𝑎
Where:
𝐹 = 𝐹𝑜𝑟𝑐𝑒
𝑚 = 𝑚𝑎𝑠𝑠
𝑎 = 𝑎𝑐𝑐𝑒𝑙𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛

Newton Third Law (Action – Reaction)

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This means
that in every interaction, there is a pair of forces acting on
the two participating objects.

In mathematical equations, Newton's 3rd law can be written as follows:

𝐹⃑ 𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 = − 𝐹⃑ 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛

Example of Newton Third Law:

If you move the paddle backwards, the boat will move forward. Conversely, when you paddle
forward, the boat moves backwards.
