DIGNITARY: Dr.T.Ram Prasad, HOD of Humanities & Sciences – Malla Reddy
Institute of Technology and Science.
Profile :
Dr.T.Ram Prasad is Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Humanities &
Sciences.
He is having 16 years of Experience driven to inspire students to pursue academic and
personal excellence and consistently strive to create a challenging and engaging learning
environment in which students become lifelong scholars and learners.
He has accpmplished Doctorate in Physics from Rayalaseema University, Kurnool, Andhra
Pradesh in 2019. Master of Physics in 2007 and B.Sc in 2004 from Acharya Nagarjuna
University, Andhra Pradesh. He published various National and international Journals,
conducted workshops and FDP’s in the area of Physics.

Questions & Answers:

1. You have key positions in your 16+ years of experience, what are the special
practices at the MRITS that you observed and you would like to highlight?

Answer: The special practices that I observed in MRITS are:

 Communicating high expectations and good interaction between staff and students.
 Developing reciprocity and cooperation among students.
 Encouraging active learning with advanced teaching tools.
 Giving prompt feedback to staff and students.
 Emphasizing the given tasks on time with total quality management.
 Personal care is taken on every student by mentoring and mentorship.
2. Technology is going through a lot of dynamic changes these days. As the HOD,
what strategies do you employ to stay current with the latest trends and
advancements in both engineering and humanities education?

Answer: For any society to progress there must exist a balance between their analytical
and philosophical entities. As engineers are responsible for finding scientific and realistic
solutions to problems, as a HOD it is important that they are guided by the principles of
humanities to make conscious decisions. Studying humanities helps engineers balance
science with societal wellbeing to make better decisions in their industry.

3. What are the current biggest challenges in the field of Humanities & Science
domain in general, and how do you plan to address them as a HOD?

Answer: As a HOD I think the current biggest challenges in the field of Humanities and
Science’s domain in general are communication, conflict and financial issues. And to resolve
these issues I will concentrate on the loopholes and will maintain better rapport with the
staff and students and takes the issues to the higher authorities for immediate solutions.

4. How do you collaborate with industries and other academic institutions to


provide practical exposure and internships for your students?

Answer: I suggest a smooth relations with other institutions and by managing differences
and conflicts in culture, vision and expectations as well as balancing autonomy and
accountability of the other institutions. Languages and Good platforms should be maintained
to provide practical exposure and internships for the students.

5. Can you explain us about the infrastructural facilities available with respect to H
& S Department at MRITS?

Answer: We have Adequate Land with vast Playground, Smart class rooms, Laboratories,
Central and Departmental Library, Conference rooms and Seminar halls, Faculty Chambers,
good and hygienic Canteen, Washrooms, Purified drinking water facilities, Internet and Wi-Fi
facility, Ladies rooms, Gym and Sports facilities, Hostel attached to the campus, Electricity
and Power breakup facility, Good transport, Medical and First-aid services, Campus Bank
and ATM services were available.
6. As the Head of Department, how do you ensure effective collaboration and
communication among faculty members in order to create a cohesive learning
environment for students?

Answer: As I had vast experience of 16+ years in MRITS, I had good relations with all my
fellow faculty members, when communicating and collaborating with new hires and existing
facility members, I provide regular feedback and support and will be a convenient channel
for every situation and will ask questions, listen actively acknowledging their contributions
and provide recognition and appreciation to my fellow faculty members to create a cohesive
learning environment for students.

7. Looking ahead, what are your aspirations and goals for the Humanities and
Sciences department under your leadership? How do you plan to achieve them?

Answer: My aspirations and goals for the Humanities and Sciences department are to
expand students’ knowledge of the human conditions and culture, especially in behaviour,
ideas and values. I encourage creative thinking, critical analysis, and information processing
among the students.

8. Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring
students?

Answer: students are tomorrow’s future, evidently students can change the society and
bring new innovations in the field of technology, students should learn with dedication and
passion and genuinely and should be disciplined, to set the bar for future.
