Role: Lead-Estimation & Proposals for Structural Fabrication

Responsibilities:

- Prepare comprehensive estimates for fabrication and/or installation for a variety

of structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects.
- Prepare detailed material take-offs, estimates, and proposals in accordance with
the enquiry requirements and required scope of work utilizing design drawings,
specifications, and other associated documents.
- Solicit pricing from steel providers, vendors and suppliers for equipment and
materials costs, in order to ascertain the lowest price.
- Calculate man hours required for all associated work with the project.
Coordinates the efficient balance between shop work and field work.
- Compose scope and bid letters and complete required bid forms, including all
general and specific terms, conditions, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications
as needed.
- Follow-up with suppliers & contractors for offers
- Co-ordinate with clients for technical clarification during bid stage
- Conduct scope review of offer v/s contract awarded
- Implement estimating best practice and procedures to ensure consistency in
estimating deliverables to projects

Requirements:

- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering

- 6-10 years of experience in the Structural Steel Industry in an estimation, costing,
proposals or production supervisor role
- Minimum of 5 years of successful and verifiable experience estimating structural
and miscellaneous steel and competitively bidding on a variety of infrastructure,
 commercial, mining, energy, oil & gas, manufacturing, and other types of projects
in a professional environment.
- An understanding of metal fabrication industry practices, processes, and
standards including purchasing, fabrication and erection.
- Experience with general contractor and construction manager customers, and
have the ability to resolve customer issues to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Must have basic computer skills such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Must have an advance understanding for structural welding technologies
- Possesses the experience/skills to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and
any related structural documents.
