DESCRIPTION OF THE CLASS:

 TITLE OF THE LESSON: The enormous turnip/ Vocabulary Acquisition
 TOPIC: revising and practicing vocabulary related to characters and objects in the story, describing
characters using simple language

FUNCTIONS: Students will consolidate their previous knowledge regarding colors, food, family
members, animals
Students will exercise their skill of storytelling and role play
Vocabulary:
Characters: Old man, Old woman, boy, girl, dog, cat, mouse, enormous turnip
Family: grandfather, grandmother, grandson, granddaughter

OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson the students will be able to:

 To revise and practice vocabulary related to characters and objects in "The Enormous
Turnip."
 To describe characters using simple language.
 To develop listening comprehension.
 To enjoy a story together through a play.
 To engage in a puzzle activity for further reinforcement of vocabulary.

 Problem: Students may have difficulty retaining new vocabulary.
 Solution: Use repetitive and engaging activities like games, drawing, and play to
reinforce vocabulary. Regularly review key words throughout the lesson.
2. Behavioral Challenges during Play:
 Problem: Some students may struggle to focus or may exhibit disruptive behavior
during the play activity.
 Solution: Set clear expectations before the play, establish roles for each student, and
provide positive reinforcement for good behavior. Incorporate movement and
interaction to keep students engaged.
3. Unequal Participation in Group Activities:
 Problem: Unequal participation in group activities, with some students dominating
while others may be reluctant to contribute.

After greeting pupils, the teacher and students sing the Hello friends song. The teacher asks about

OBJECTIVE: To check their knowledge about the learnt topic


To reinforce the Ss’ knowledge on the previous lesson.
To consolidate the usage of names of some food.

DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY: T arranges pictures or flashcards of characters and objects
from "The Enormous Turnip" in random order. Ensures all students can see the whiteboard
clearly. Briefly reviews the names of characters and objects with the class. Explains that they will
work together to put the characters and objects in the order they appear in the story.
Begins by placing one picture on the board and asks the students to identify it.
Continues adding pictures, asking students to recall the sequence of events in the story. T
encourages students to share what happens next in the story as each new picture is added. Once
all the pictures are on the board, T reviews the entire sequence with the class.
Reinforces the vocabulary by having students repeat the names of characters and objects in order.

discuss and identify different elements of the story. Uses gestures or verbal affirmations to
