4. The train leaves at 1700 hrs. • A vonat (menetrend szerint) 17 órakor indul.
The train is leaving in no time. • A vonat azonnal indul.
Az angolban nem létezik egyetlen jövő idő (future tense); a jövő kifejezésé-
re számos nyelvi szerkezet szolgál:
(i) A simple present tense
(ii) A present continuous / progressive tense
(iii) A be going to szerkezet
(iv) A simple future tense
(v) A future continuous / progressive tense
(vi) A future perfect tense
(vii) A future perfect continuous / progressive tense
‘Where’re you going this week-end?’ ‘I’m staying at home.’ ‘I see. And
what’re you doing?’ ‘A friend is coming to see me.’
„Mit csinálsz a hétvégén?” „Otthon vagyok/leszek.” „Értem. És mit csi-
nálsz/fogsz csinálni?” „Egyik barátom jön látogatóba.”
‘There’s no milk at home.’ ‘OK, then I’ll get some.’, nem pedig: *I’m going
to get some., mivel a „Nincs tej itthon.” közlés hallatán határozok el vala-
mit („Oké, akkor hozok.”), nem pedig korábban.
Gyak. 25., 26., 29., 32.
Itt a simple future tense jövőre utaló vélekedést, feltételezést, reményt fejez

cselekvést fejez ki.
Gyak. 33., 35.
2. By the end of November we’ll have known each other for three years.
November végére már három éve lesz, hogy ismerjük egymást.
By the time we get to the arena, the band will surely have started playing.
Gyak. 33., 35.
Képzés: a be future perfect alakjai (shall/will have been) + a főige -ing vég-
ződésű alakja.

határozóval vagy simple present tense-ben álló mellékmondattal meghatá-
rozott) időpontjáig, vagy még azután is tartó állapotot, vagy folyamatban
levő cselekvést fejez ki.

get an education the better chances they (2) will have / have later in life, so
they (3) are pushing / push their kids earlier and earlier into schools. That’s
what (4) happens / is happening with the Lions, as can be seen from this
conversation:
‘What’s the matter, Mrs Lion? You (5) are looking / look upset.’
‘We (6) are waiting / wait on word whether they (7) will accept / accept
Tom in the nursery school.’
‘I (8) am not thinking / don’t think that you (9) have / ’ll have any trouble.
Tom (10) seems / is seeming a very bright two-year-old.’
‘He (11) is being / is bright. But they (12) don’t / won’t take him unless he’s
toilet trained and he (13) doesn’t / won’t cooperate.’
‘I see. But don’t you think when he really (14) wants / will want to go to
school he will?’
‘Ah, he doesn’t care if he (15) gets / is going to get into school
or not. Every time we (16) mention / are mentioning
the nursery, he (17) tries / is trying to climb into a
shopping bag.’
‘Maybe he wants to wait a year to find himself.’
‘This isn’t joking matter. We (18) are having /
have an expensive toilet trainer. You (19)
sit / are sitting the baby on it and it (20) is
playing / plays music when he (21) does / is
doing something. But Tom still (22) won’t /
isn’t going to use it.’
