GUESS THE SOUND

- Each turn, a pair of students will play


together.
- 1 ST puts on the over-ear headphone and try Headphone

2. GREETING and  Small talk: LAST WEEK pom-poms
OPENING - TR gives whole class 1 min to think of good 10m
questions for asking later.
- Each ST grabs a random pom-pom from the PPT
box. SS with the same color will ask and (Rules/PB
answer to each other. MS)

 TR picks out 1 best question and 1 best


answer to give points.

A. VOCABULARY REVISION
 Presentation:
- TR drills FCs to review all vocab items taught FCs
in Day 1. PPT
(cards)
- TR shows on-screen some pictures of the
vocab items to get class be prepared for the
upcoming activity.
 Activity: CARDS GAME
- Before activity, TR asks SS to help write some
vocab item randomly onto blank cards and Timer
collects them back. Cards
- Class sits in circle. TR sets timer of 5 mins.
3. PRE-TASK - Each ST is provided with a random 10m
picture/word card.
- When it’s turn, SS will pick up a card from the
deck in the center. Then they choose to play it
or save it for the next turn(s).
- When SS play 1/2/…/cards, they must make a
sentence with the corresponding number of
words with the cards.
- When SS pick up ‘Thief’ card, they can
instantly steal a random card from a ST’s hand
and play it to get the points.
 TR/TA helps to keep track of SS’ points to
find out the winner with the most points
after amount of time given for the activity.
4. MAIN TASK 1 B1. DIALOGUE REVISION

 Show the puzzle piece from Chapter 9 and
ask if SS remember what the message is.
- TR gives class the clues of the correlation of Puzzle
alphabet and numbers to solve in 2 mins Poster

 TR can give extra point to the fastest ST who
figures out ‘GO TO THE CITY MUSEUM.’
 Show poster and ask some Qs to check ss’s
memory.
- What do you see in this poster?
- Who do you see in this Chapter 10?
- Where were they?
- What is a ‘museum’?
- Did you ever go to a museum?
(extra: What museum did you go? Who did
you go with? When? …)
 TR turns on the audio for SS to listen to the
whole chapter.
 TR reads first for SS to repeat some lines.
Then TR turns on the audio file for SS to repeat
line-by-line and practice Characters’
intonation.
 extra: TR can utilize more Qs in Teacher’s
Guide to check on SS’ comprehension of the 10m
Chapter.

B2. PASSAGE REVISION
 Show Language Book page ‘MEET THE
DINOSAURS’ and ask lead-in Qs:
- What do you see?
- Were dinosaurs real? / Did they exist?
- Do you like dinosaurs?
 TR turns on the audio for SS to listen to the
whole text.
 TR divides SS into different pairs and assign
them with different parts of text.
- After 1 min of practicing in pairs, TR let them
read aloud.
 Activity: JENGA
- TR divides class into 2 teams and prepares a
tower of wooden blocks on the table in the
middle.
- Within 5 mins of game play, each ST will try
to remove a single block from the tower
without knocking it down. When a block is
removed, TR checks the number with the list of
Qs shown on-screen.
(numbers ending in 0 answer the Qs of 0 and
so are others.)

- The SS of the team must answer Qs correctly


to get a point and a chance to place it onto the
tower to challenge the other team. Otherwise,
they can’t have anything or chances.
- The winning team will be the team with the
most Qs correctly answered or when another
team knocks down the tower.

- TR reviews ‘Verbs’ and asks SS to give
examples. PPT
6. MAIN TASK 2 - TR introduces the concept of ‘Verbs in past
tense’ = V-ed
- TR elicits Regular verbs and Irregular
verbs.
- TR elicits the Past Form rules for Regular
verbs
 focus SS on the rule of ‘just adding -ed’.

- TR teaches the pronunciation rules of -ED.

 Language Book: TR lets SS finish the part in
2 mins.
 Activity: SAY IT OR SAY NO
- TR prepares some cards of Regular verbs.
- SS pick a card and only calls out the word
with the correct pronunciation of -ED when it’s Cards
the Regular verb following the rule of ‘just
adding -ed’ .
- If the word isn’t the target Verb, SS say ‘NO!’
to deny it.
