@ some, any การใช้ในกรณียกเว้น

ปกติเราจะใช้ any กับประโยคคำถามหรือปฏิเสธ ใช้ some กับประโยคบอกเล่า กรณีต่อ
ไปนี้ จะใช้ any และ some ต่างออกไป

ทั้ง any และ some ใช้กับ Noun นับได้พหูพจน์ และ Noun นับไม่ได้

# 1) เราใช้ any ในประโยคบอกเล่าได้ เมื่อ

(1.1) ถ้า any หมายถึงคนไหนก็ได้ที่ไม่เจาะจง อะไรก็ได้ที่ไม่เจาะจง โดยไม่มีข้อยกเว้น

- Any student who wants to go home early may do so.

(1.2) ถ้าประโยคนั้นแสดงความไม่แน่ใจ เช่น wonder, doubt

- I wonder whether anyone is there.

(1.3) ถ้ามีคำที่มีความหมายเชิงปฏิเสธ ได้แก่ hardly, never, rarely, scarcely, seldom,

without เช่น - A ferocious tiger in circus is one which shows without any thought
from trainer.

# 2) เราใช้ some เมื่อ

(2.1) คำถามที่ขึ้นต้นด้วย question word

- Where can I buy some books?

(2.2) เป็ นคำถามปฏิเสธ

- Arn't there some student here?

(2.3) คำถามเชิญชวนที่ผู้ถามหวังจะได้คำตอบรับ
- Could I have some coffee, please?

ถ้ามี just หรือ only มาขยายเพื่อเน้นคำ ต้องใช้ a few
หมายเหตุ:

- He has few friends. (เขามีเพื่อนน้อยมาก)

- The theater is almost filled but there are a few seats left. (ยังพอหาที่นั่นได้)
- He knows little English. (รู้ภาษาอังกฤษน้อยมาก ไม่พอใช้งาน)
- He knows a little English. (รู้พอใช้งานได้)
-Only a few student can pass the final examination.
-Only a few can pass the final examination.

@ การใช้many กับ much

1. คำที่ตามด้วย Noun นับได้พหูพจน์ ได้แก่ many, a good many, a great many, a large
number of, a great number of
- We visited many places around Bangkok.

2. คำที่ตามด้วย Noun นับไม่ได้ ได้แก่ much, a great deal of, a good deal of, a large
amount of, a great amount of
- Much gold was bought from the poore workemen.

3. คำที่ตามด้วยได้ทั้ง Noun นับได้พหูพจน์ และ Noun นับไม่ได้ ได้แก่ a lot of, lots of,
plenty of, all of, most of, none of, some of , ...<ตัวเลข>... percent of
- Ten percent of the students have troubles.
- Ten percent of the gold is yours.

หมายเหตุ: many a ... หรือ more than a + ... Noun เอกพจน์นับได้ ใช้ Verb เอกพจน์
เช่น - More than a pen is taken from his box.

@ การใช้ most และ most of

most + Noun นับได้พหูพจน์ หรือ Noun นับไม่ได้

most of + the .../ these .../ those .../ my .../ your ... + Noun นับได้พหูพจน์
หรือ Noun นับไม่ได้

- Most students like statistics. [Noun นับได้พหูพจน์]

- Most water was dried. [Noun นับไม่ได้]
- Most people like ...
- Most of the people like ...
