Title: “Thriving Green at Home: My Journey to Sustainable Practices”

Project Objective
As a student, I undertook the “Thriving Green at Home” project to lead my family towards a more
sustainable lifestyle. This initiative focuses on waste reduction, embracing eco-friendly habits, and creating a
positive impact on our environment.

Introduction
Embarking on the “Thriving Green at Home” my aim was to take charge of sustainable living practices
within my family. This introduction outlines the personal commitment and responsibility I undertook to instill
green habits at home.

Objectives:
- Empower myself to become a leader in fostering sustainable living practices.
- Implement practical initiatives for waste reduction and eco-friendly habits.
- Share the journey and outcomes with family members to inspire collective action.

Implementation Steps:
a. Introduction and Family Briefing
 Presented the “Thriving Green at Home” project to family members, stressing the collective role
in creating a sustainable household.
b. Personal Waste Assessment
 Conducted a personal waste assessment to identify my own waste generation patterns and
areas for improvement.
c. Eco-Bin Setup
 Implemented a personal waste segregation system using color-coded bins for recyclables,
organics, and non-recyclables within my personal space.
d. Personal Composting Corner
 Dedicated a corner for a composting setup, utilizing kitchen scraps and organic waste.
 Facilitated family education on composting basics.
e. Personal Reusable Challenge
 Initiated a personal reusable challenge, committing to using cloth bags, reusable water bottles,
and containers for a specific duration.
