Abstract

The aim of this current study was an attempt to determine to what extent
emotional intelligence of schooled adolescent affects his or her violent behavior,
and to identify the factors influencing both emotional intelligence and school
violence ( gender, age, environment ).
To fulfill this aim, two measures were used as an instrument for data
collection of the research sample, which consisted of 100 respondents. 24 of
them were excluded since they were not reliable in the answers they had given.
In order to execute data analysis and test research hypotheses computer software
SPSS (Statistical package for the Social Sciences) was used to this end. Based
on descriptive and inferential statistics, we were able to reach the following
findings:
_ There is a negative correlation between the emotional intelligence and the
level of violence among schooled adolescent.
_ There are statistical significant differences between males and females at
the level of emotional intelligence of schooled adolescents.
_ there are statistical significant differences between males and females at the
level of violence among schooled adolescents.
_ there is a negative correlation between personal competency and the level
of violence among schooled adolescents.
_ there is a negative correlation between social competency and the level of
violence among schooled adolescents.
_ there is a negative correlation between stress management competency and
the level of violence among schooled adolescents.
_ there is a negative correlation between adaptability and the level of
violence among schooled adolescents.
