Geometric Construction Investigation

Here are the tutorial to construct (please watch all of the videos) and construct each of the followings:
- Use this online geometric construction tool or your own compasses, ruler to construct the
following:

Constructing the perpendicular from a point to a line:

Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjluAXtpbPI
● Task: Construct a perpendicular line from point C to line AB. Point C is 6 cm above the line.

● Task: Draw a triangle. Then construct a perpendicular from each corner of the triangle to its
opposite side. What do you notice?

● Task: Construct an inscribed octagon by following the video of constructing a square (Hint: You
need to construct two squares)

Constructing an inscribed regular hexagon:

● Task: Construct an inscribed equilateral triangle by following the video of constructing a hexagon.
(Hint: You need to connect three points instead of 6)

(I found easier way from

youtube 👍)

Challenge:
● Construct the geometric patterns shown below:

● Construct your own geometric pattern using inscribed shapes.
Answer the following questions:
What is a perpendicular line?
Line that intersects at a 90-degree angle

What is the angle formed by a perpendicular line?

A 90-degree angle or otherwise called a right angle.

What does an inscribed polygon look like? What does it mean to be inscribed?
It looks like when both the circle and the vertices of the shape inside are touching. Inscribed in math
terms is when a shape which only touches the sides of another shape.
