The bar chart below depicts the comparison between average house prices in periods from 1990 to 1995

and 1996 to 2002 and the prices in 1989. The difference in prices is compared in five different cities.

There was a significant difference between changes in average prices during first and second timelines.
Between 1990 and 1995, In Tokio and Japan there was the biggest negative difference in comparison to
1989 (-7 per cent in both cities). The indicators which were roughly the same made up in Frankfurt and
Madrid (nearly 2 per cent and 1.5 per cent respectively). In New York the change of average price was
one of the greatest (-5 per cent in comparison to 1989 prices).

The only change with negative percentage during the 1996-2002 period was one in London (-5 units). In
addition, the biggest difference in average price was shown in Tokyo (roughly 12 per cent), it is nearly
three times more than in Madrid, where the percentage change made up roughly 4 per cent. The
difference in price in Frankfurt is approximately 80 per cent more than in New York (1 and 5 per cent
respectively).

To sum up, the bar chart compares the changes in average prices during 1990-2000 timeline with 1989
and depicts that average prices from 1996 to 2002 were much higher than between 1996 and 2002.
