Ethylene, C2H4, is a highly flammable, colorless and noncorrosive gas with a sweet

odor. It is easily ignited and a flame can easily flash back to the source of the leak.
Under prolonged exposure to fire or heat the containers may rupture violently and
rocket. Can cause explosion. Vapors arising from the boiling liquid are lighter than
air. Ethylene is not toxic, but is a simple asphyxiant.
Ethylene is used as an anesthetic, a refrigerant, and to make other chemicals as
polymers and plastics.
Hydrogen chloride (HCl), refrigerated liquid appears as a colourless liquid with a sharp,
pungent odour. Vapours are heavier than air. Long-term inhalation of low concentrations of
vapours or short-term inhalation of high concentrations has adverse health effects. Exposure
of the container to intense heat may cause its violent rupture and rocketing.

Greenish-yellow gas with a pungent, irritating odor. Toxic by inhalation. Slightly soluble
in water. Liquefies at -35 °C and room pressure. Readily liquefied by pressure applied at
room temperature. Contact with unconfined liquid can cause frostbite by evaporative
cooling. Does not burn but, like oxygen, supports combustion. Long-term inhalation of low
concentrations or short-term inhalation of high concentrations has ill effects. Vapors are
much heavier than air and tend to settle in low areas.
Oxygen exists in all three forms: liquid, solid, and gas. The liquid and solid forms are a pale
blue colour. However, oxygen gas is colourless, odourless, and tasteless. Oxygen changes
from a gas to a liquid at a temperature of 182.96oC, and then can be solidified or frozen at a
temperature of -218.4oC. The three allotropic forms include diatomic oxygen; nascent
oxygen and ozone.
VCM is a colourless gas, it is extremely flammable and unstable.
Has a mild, sweet odour. The threshold for detecting odour is 3000 parts per million.
VCM is soluble in many organic solvents but is not soluble in water. VCM is considered a
volatile
1,2-dichloroethylene, (mixed isomers) appears as a clear colorless liquid with ether-like odor.
Mixture of cis and trans isomers. Flashpoint 36 - 43 °F. Denser than water and insoluble
in water. Vapors heavier than air
