A planner helps shape a neighborhood, town, city, or even larger geographic area—including
buildings, roads, bridges, parks, vehicles, and services. It’s a planner's job to see the “big picture”

*Zoning is deciding how each area in a community should be used.
Urban planners divide land into Residential Zones (where people
live), Commercial Zones (where people buy things and access
services), Industrial Zones (where people or machines make things),
parks, and open spaces. Then they help make rules about what, how,
and when things can be build or changed in each area.
