8. Measure the diameter of each cylinder head bolt at 11. Tighten the cylinder head bolts in sequence to 29 N-m
point A and point B. (3.0 k g f m , 22 Ibfft) using a beam-type torque wrench.
When using a preset click-type torque wrench, be

sure to torque slowly and do not overtighten. If a bolt
45 mm (1.8 in) makes any noise while y o u are torquing it, loosen the
bolt and retighten it f r o m the first step.

9. If either diameter is less than 10.6 m m (0.42 in),


replace the cylinder head bolt.

10. Apply new engine oil to the threads and under the bolt
heads of ail cylinder head bolts.
