MINI-DRAG®
LOW FLOW SAMPLING
AND CONTROL VALVES
The Mini-DRAG® low flow sampling and control valve is ideal for
laboratory applications or wherever critical sampling and analysis of
high pressure liquids and gases under carefully controlled conditions
is required. This lightweight, compact valve design is capable of
handling up to 6000 psi pressure drop at low flow rate. It is available
either as a hand-operated sampling valve or as a pneumatically-
operated process control valve.
The valve incorporates a standardized version of CCIs proven
DRAG® disk stack trim, which controls flowing velocities by forcing
the process fluid to follow a tortuous path of right angle turns. The
resistance to flow provided by these turns reduces fluid velocities
significantly. Therefore, a vena contracta is never formed in the trim,
and noise and cavitation are stopped before they can start. The
associated problems of vibration and erosion of trim and body parts,
hydrate formation and poor process control are minimized as well.
FEATURES
High Pressure Drop: Capable of handling up to 6000 psi pressure
drop at low flow rates.
Tight Shutoff: Metal-sheathed, soft seat construction combines high
seat integrity with bubble-tight shutoff (see Figure 2).
Excellent Throttling Performance: Patented DRAG® disk stack
technology provides quiet operation, reliable service and excellent
wear resistance.
Easy Maintenance: Top entry design allows for quick inspection or
service without removing the valve from the pipeline. Separable disk
stack provides for easy cleaning.
Application Flexibility: High temperature option, metal seat,
reduced Cv and special characterization are available to suit your
application.
