SCI-MATH MONTH ACTIVITIES

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Greetings!
For the month of September, the Department of Education celebrates the Science-Math Month
with the theme, “Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon, Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at
Panatag na Kinabukasan”. In line with this, Rainbow Connection Child Learning Center
prepared engaging and fun-filled activities that Grade School & Junior High School students can
join with.
Please be guided with the following:

1. Mr. & Miss Trashion

Mechanics:
1. A complete outfit must be worn by each model (male- upper and lower wear, female-
upper and lower wear or dress which should be made up of 85% recyclable materials
like papers, plastic and etc. during the Sci-Math Month Culminating Activity.

2. Footwear, jewelry, purses, and other accessories may be used to enhance to overall
costume.
3. The designer must have a description of the clothes about:
 Materials used
 Inspiration of design, motif
 Relevance to the theme
 Any other additional information about the costume

4. The clothing MUST be PERSONALLY made (not rented) to avoid disqualification.

5. The clothes must be made from RECYCLED, NON-BIODEGRADABLE and

RESIDUAL materials. No using of TRASH BAGS, FABRICS, GLITTERS and
Animal integuments like feathers, skin and furs.

Categories:
 Category A – Grade 1-3
 Category B – Grade 4-6
 Category C – Grade 7-10
2. MATHEMATICIAN / SCIENTIST LOOK-ALIKE

Mechanics:
The participant shall dress up looking like a scientist or mathematician (Albert Einstein,
Isaac Newton, Archimedes, and etc.).

Categories:
 Category A – Grade 1-3
 Category B – Grade 4-6
 Category C – Grade 7-10

3. SCIENCE QUIZ BOWL

The participants will be grouped into six groups with at least one representative coming
from each grade level from their designated categories.

The quiz bowl is composed of three rounds: Easy, Moderate, and Difficult Rounds. Each
round will have ten (10) questions. Easy round questions are worth 1 point, moderate 2
points, and difficult 3 points.

All questions are of multiple-choice type. Teams will be provided with cards. No choices
shall be provided for the answers to questions for the difficult round.

At the end of each round, the cumulative score of each team will be computed. The team
that scores the highest wins the quiz bowl.

Categories:
 Category A – Grade 1-3
 Category B – Grade 4-6
 Category C – Grade 7-10

4. MATH QUIZ BOWL

5. SCIENCE EXHIBIT
The students will display their science inventions or experiments in designated area. The
representatives will stay in the area to explain about their inventions.

6. MATH SAYAW ZUMBA

It is a fitness dance which will be led by the SSG officers, wherein they will utilize Math
symbols as steps in their Zumba.

The aforementioned activities will be happening simultaneously during the SCI-MATH

Culminating Activity from 8:30am to 4:00pm on September 29, 2023 (Friday). For
