 In refers to:

Seasons – in spring

Parts of the day - In the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening

With long periods of time – in the nineteenth century

 On refers to:

Days – On Friday

On September 3rd

On New Year’s Day

 At refers to:

Times – at 10 p.m., at night, at dinner time

Special occasions – At Christmas

At the New Year

 For refers to a period of time (past until now).

 Since is a point at the beginning of the time 9 (past until now).

 Ago is a point in the past
