Factor' effective January 1, 2024.

 MSC has introduced a surcharge of $297 per TEU starting December 15, 2023,
citing ongoing capacity reductions by the Panama Canal Authority (PCA).

The PCA's decision, driven by decreased rainfall, will lead to a 30% reduction in vessel
transits through the Neopanamax locks, significantly impacting booking availability
from January 1. An analysis indicates that these locks will operate at less than 50% of
their designed capacity.

While carrier Maersk has cautioned about potential transit issues, they propose that
advanced planning might mitigate possible delays. Maersk is actively working with the
PCA to secure transit slots and exploring alternative container transport options
between the Atlantic and Pacific gateways.

Furthermore, widespread public protests across Panama concerning the expansion

plans of the Cobra Panama copper mine into the virgin rainforest have resulted in
frequent road blockades, affecting major routes leading to container terminals at
either end of the canal.
