Thomas Edison
Thomas Edison is a famous American inventor. He was born on
February 11th, 1847 in Ohio, America. Then, his family moved to
Michigan where Edison spent his childhood. He did not attend
elementary school. He was homeschooled by his mother.
He used to sell vegetables and newspapers on trains. He was
interested in reading too. In 1871, Thomas Edison got married to his
wife who was named Mary Stilwell. He had six children.
Thomas Edison opened his own research laboratory where he
worked on many inventions. He invented the first lamp in 1879. He
also invented other successful works like the phonograph. Edison died
on October 18th, 1931 in New Jersey, USA.
